SOURCE: My 42" LG LCD turns itself off

There is probably a firmware update on the LG website that should take care of this.Go to the downloads area and enter the model number for available updates.

SOURCE: I have lg 32 in lcd tv cannot get it off standby

Have you tried to unplug it from the mains electrical socket, leave it for a minute or two & then re-connect? If this does not help then call your LG service centre for a repair engineer. You will either have a fault on the main board or a software update might be required.

SOURCE: 42 in LG LCD TV turns off by itself

Found that TV started switching off by itself. Would try to come on..green light blinked for 2-3 seconds, tv came on (with picture and sound) for 1 or 2 seconds and then it would turn itself off. Found that the issue is with one channel only. If you are facing this issue....try quickly changing the channel the moment it comes on. You can do it either with remote or with the TV buttons directly. also in the same logic, if this is still happening, try changing the source to another (rgb-pc, av1, av2 etc). Basically change it from whatever input it is on currently, if changing the channels does not work. My symptom was that the tv made a loud 'TIK' 'TAK' sound which is louder than normal.

I have a 50inch LG Plasma which is around 3-4 years old and no longer under warranty. When first switching on it immediately switches itself back into standby mode making a loud click whilst doing soon....

You need to remove the back and check the power supply board for bulged electrolytic caps that will need to be replace, or just replace the power supply board.

T.V. turning on

yes my 26" sharp aquous LCD does the same thing, turns itself off and on at random times without explanation. I sent to authorized service center they replaced the power supply under warranty then it failed within 6 months and neither the repair center nor sharp will do anything about it other than sell me a new powersupply for $425.00. I have contacted a power supply repair center in Texas who has vowed to fix it once and for all. We'll see in the next week if they fix it or not.

My sharp 26"lcd tv stuck in standby, wont turn on

I had a same problem with sharp LC-40LE340E. The service told me to change motherboard but I decided to buy a new LG TV. The sharp TV I left unplugged for a 50 days and after that when I tried again the tv started normally. I was Really surprised. Don't spend money just wait and check again. shkelzen65@gmail.com
