ViewSonic Monitor has trouble to wake up after been shut down?
Hi, Could you please help?
We had the ViewSonic flat monitor for about 2 years. We shut the computer+ monitor at night by shutting off the computer via shut down on the screen and then turn off the surge protector, that shuts monitor and all. We don't shut the monitor itself because it is difficult for my husband who can't fully use his hands.
When I turn on the computer in the morning, the monitor screen flashes an image for a split second and then goes blank. I noticed that the green LED power button on the monitor keeps flashing as the monitor is black.
I saw someone else posted exactly the same issue on another message board !!!! So, I am not alone!! But, unfortunately there were no answer!!
I press the keys, I move my mouse and eventually the monitor wakes up and stays awake, but it takes me 10 min!!! to wake it up... and I don't really know yet what keys I press and how long do I press them to wake the monitor up and I am tired to do that every morning!!! HELP!!!
This computer is set to NOT GO into Sleep MODE at any TIME already. The SLOW WAKE UP HAPPENS when I turn the computer ON in the morning... ANY Suggestions. This computer is set to NOT GO into Sleep MODE at any TIME already. The SLOW WAKE UP HAPPENS when I turn the computer ON in the morning... ANY Suggestions.

Ok sounds to me like a power supply problem.. this a a fairly common symptom. I suggest that as a temporary fix you set the monitor to NOT turn the power off to the monitor in sleep mode if possible, in your power settings for the monitor.

Sounds like you may have a bad connector. Make sure it fits snugly in the pc and the back of the monitor. If you still get no input try a different connector
For this >2 years monitor, first place to look will be the power supply section, look for caps with bulging top, post back what you see inside so we can guide you further, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Hi, well if this is the inverter board, then its probably more cost effective to buy a new screen, same thing if this is the cathode lights. Reason for that is the technician will charge to replace, so cost will get anywhere from 50 and up. Only one question, how many years old is it? I do believe Viewsonic has 3 year warranties.
I have a similar issue. A search at Tomshardware web site suggests that faulty capacitors are the issue and that this is a widespread problem certainly with the VX922. Several guys on the Tomshardware post claimed that replacing the capacitors solved the problem (their units were out of warranty anyway).
Hi, There could be a problem with your display card settings or the display card itself. If you are using Windows operating system, make sure that you have the monitor driver installed for that specific monitor. This is to ensure that Windows only allows settings for which your particular monitor was designed. Let me know if I can assist you any further regarding this. Best wishes, Graemevm
I have a Viewsonic Flat Screen - recently I turn it on and all I see is like tye dye colors across the monitor with a slight ghost images of windows trying to boot-up. What can I do to fix this. The monitor is about 1 1/2 year old.
Hi..there,
It's seems your bios on the monitor are the caused... Next time went it come one again...press 1 for YES. Still pop up again...you need to reset to the factory settings or need to updated your bios...
Well with this type of fault it is invairably a problem with the Power Supply, in the PSU Electrolytic capacitors dry out and often cause this type of exact problem... It is a relitively simple fix, by replacing the caps with new ones... Any good shop should be able to fix for a modest fee.. OR if ya know anyone handy with a soldering iron maybe they could do it for you there are generally about 4 - 6 to replace... in the PS section, just do them all to be safe..
