Question about Avocent AutoView® 2015 (AV2015-001) KVM Switch

Open Question

No video display using Avocent 2015 KVM switch

After relocating (2) KVM switches with PS2 and USB Avriq adapters originally controlling 25 servers, I get keyboard and mouse operation, but get no video display on any server I attach to.
I have decommissioned the AVRIQ adapters, cleared all ports, tried different monitors, eliminated all cable extenders, but still get no video display.
There appears to be no issues in Avocent knowledgebase, and their support does not respond to my email request.

SOURCE: How do I reset the password on my Avocent

I believe there is a reset button somewhere on that unit that you can press to just do a quick reset of it. If you hold that button down, you should be able to reset the settings on it, including your password. Hope this helps.

I hope this helps you.

Make sure you use the correct IQ modules for that Model of Switch.

If the the IQ module is a PS2 module you migth want to reboot the server.

SOURCE: I have avocent switchview 1000

What resolution are you using? And if you place the Avocent KVM cable to a different port, do you get a signal? If you use a Known good cable do you get a KVM session with good video?

the switch should beep if you switch between channels or Ports.

It seems that you might want to download the manual and try to reset the unit. If this doesn't work call their support. Avocent has free support as far as I know.

Hi Steven,

the power is or will be needed. Your unit is a single monitor... are you trying to make it a dual screen setup?

What is the target OS... ? How are you connecting *(USB or PS2) to the PC?

-If you use PS2 you might have to reboot your PC
Is the PC DVI or VGA?

Our controlled equipment works with an AMIQ-USB on an AMX 5010 w/ AMX 5130 system, but when using an AVRIQ-USB on an AutoView 3016 the mouse only moves up and down, not left and right. Holding down one of...

You are using the wrong IQ module, the AV is used for AutoView were the AMIQ is used for AMX systems.

Always check the first 2 letters of the IQ module, that will indicate for which appliance that module is or intended to.

ex. DSAVRIQ will work on DSRs, AutoViews, and the newer Mergepoint Unity

The DSRIQ works with DSRs and Mergepoint Unity

HMIQSHDI work only for HMX systems and in this case only on HMX1070

Thanks

USB mouse not recognized

I have similar problem. 2 inland KVM's (both have PS2 inputs, one has USB outputs) do not light or recognize my usb mouse with a PS2 adapter. They do recognize a PS2 ball mouse on the KVM's however. One of the computers (Sony vaio 1.5 GHz) does recognize a usb mouse with adapter on 2 other KVM's (Old Belkin and a Trendnet) (the second computer I have not tried in those configurations). Next I will try an optical mouse with a PS2 fitting. That did work with a fifth KVM at an auto business last week.

KVM switch control

APEX switches are manufacturer by Avocent and rebranded by Dell, HP/Compaq, IBM, etc.

The keystrokes should be CTRL-CTRL (Hit control 2 times). Some Avocent switches also use ALT-ALT or SCROLL-SCROLL.
