The battery may be bad or the charging mechanism of the battery area. OR you may have some undocked (battery run setting) that is dimming the screen or turning off the monitor when you are running on battery where you think it is off but the screen needs to be lightened or powered on.
I would first take a look at your Power Settings in the control panel and see what they are set to.

change the setting in power options so that the system runs off battery and not ac power. the power options are in the control panell. usually some where in the system folder. depending on the opperating system. search threw your control pannel setting for power settings or something more similar to that. sorry i couldnt be of more assistance to you

DELL B130 NOTE BOOK


Can't do much except replace the keyboard or plug in a full size keyboard either a PS2 or USB type.
There are several companies selling replacement keyboards on the Internet, I purchased one from Yall Store for approx. $60

Inspiron B130 won't boot


plz try to boot through safe mode, if you can then log in normally.
if you cant boot from safe mode then you have to reload or repair your os.

Ispiron b130 wont turn on


Hi!

Im sorry to inform you that the motherboard on your computer needs to be replaced. If the ac adapter light turns on if not plugged into the system and when you do plug it in, it dims or flashes, that's a right out symptom that the motherboard needs to be replaced. Do you still have warranty for that system? if you do, call Dell Tech Support and have them replace it. If the warranty is already expired, please call Dell at 1-800-2884410 for an estimate on how much it would cost you to have the motherboard replaced. Usually would be around $400 - $500 and 5-8 business days. Unfortunately, you have to ship the system back to Dell for that repair.

check if the ac adapter or charger has a green light on it. if not, replace the charger. for dell chargers, it should have a green light to indicate that the charger is getting power from the wall outlet. if the ac adapter is good, then you might need to replace the mother board as the ac port is integrated.
