Hi
Most  transformers have a thermal fuse fitted, this can be bypassed/replaced  to get the amp working again. Are you up to having a go at fixing it?

The only place to try, would be Andrews Electronics, in Valencia, CA. It may be discontinued if it's older than about 2 years. Happy hunting.

The main fuse has blown, or the power transformer has a open primary, one or too audio outputs semiconductors have shorted. To narrow it down the top needs to be removed and unplugged, set digital meter to ohms and check fuses, next! the too wires going into the transformer should have a low reading, but if it reads infinity or open the primary side of the transformer is open.

My RCA 61" tv model

Either this part is the problem or it was blown up by a short circuit in another part. It is a 900V 3.5A power transistor (P3NB90FP is made by ST Microelectronics), most likely used for high-speed switching of a transformer. It is probably controlled by a voltage regulator chip and protected by a "snubber network" made with a diode, capacitor and resistor. Check these parts to see if they are shorted. Also, check the input rectifier.

Disclaimer: I am making educated guesses about the circuit because I don't have the service manual on this unit yet.

It doesn't want to work anymore!! There appears to be no power to the Disc Player, Cassette Deck or the Sound Processor? The Amplifier screen displays F61 Hope you can be of assistance Thank you

With my crystal ball I can see its a Technics 4 part Hifi micro system you have although the image is just too fuzzy for me to tell which model.!

Joking apart...Your power amp module has a blown channel. These are specific Technics modules and some for the 3/4/5 channel units are quite expensive UK £40-80 just for the module + fitting costs

No DIY fix I'm afraid

Blown transformer

Greetings!

GPX just received this transformer in stock, at least for model KCLD8886DT. You can contact them at 314-621-2881 and follow the prompts (I think selection 2) or contact them via email at partsinfo@dpi-global.com. The transformer is $15 plus freight. Good luck!

Was the fuse Blown?? check with an ohm meteracross the two prongs that you plug into the wall of course you gotta unplug it for this. It should read around 4 to 10 ohms depending on the type of power transformer is in the unit.. If it reads open then theres a fuse open or a bad power transformer. If its not open check the power supply for the proper voltage from the diagram. Good luck
