Hello. Try going here:
http://www.garland-group.com/?xhtml=xhtml/gar/us/en/general/productdownloads_service.html&xsl=productdownloads.xsl

this manual may not apply to your unit specifically, however, it does contain cleaning information specified by the manufacture for oven, grill, exterior, and stainless surfaces.
Hope that helps, and thank you.

Use warm, soapy water for everyday cleaning, and dry with a soft cloth. Use a mixture of 25 percent white vinegar in water to remove mineral deposits left by hard water. Step3Remove burned-on food, wash with warm soapy water and a scrub brush made of nylon. 4Remove rust with an oxalic acid cleaner such as Bar Keepers Friend 5 Use glass cleaner and a soft cloth to remove fingerprints. Polish stainless steel with a paste made of water and baking soda. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Please rate this fixya

Do older garland gas stoves need a conversion kit or can they be adjusted from nat to propane

They must be converted. New burner orifaces for burners, griddle, and oven and a new regulator for the gas valve.

I have a Garland Sunfire 36 inch gas Range. oven does not come on again after reaching temp.

You probably have a bad thermocouple. Try cleaning it off with sand paper. It's the part that the pilot light is igniting.

Garland gas oven pilot light won't stay lit. We have cleaned it and depressed red button for varying times up to 10 minutes. Adjusted flam

The ovens are protected by a thermocouple. It's the steel rod that the pilot flame heats up. The idea is simple- if the thermocouple doesn't sense heat from a pilot flame, it won't allow the gas regulator to send gas to the oven burner bar; it won't even allow the pilot to stay lit. Easy to replace. My Garland oven uses a 24" thermocouple. Any good hardware store has them for around $10. Just take off the skirt that covers the over-ride buttons on the regulator. You'll see the other end of the thermocouple there. I recommend taking the old one with you so you know which length to get. When you install the new one, just curl any excess in a nice big loop & tuck it out of the way.

Every couple of days the pilot light goes out.

Hello. It sounds like you are able to relight it, and all is good till the next time. I would suggest replacing the thermocouple for the oven, and cleaning the pilot. The pilot is probably dirty, they draw dust into them while burning, and thermocouples are reasonably priced. You could be having a problem with your pilot safety, the part with the red button that you push to relight the pilot, however it is easier, and cheaper to get a new t'couple, and clean the pilot first.

You can go to: www.garland-group.com or call them for parts 1.800.424.2411. There are many part suppliers online that can get what you need.

Hope that helps, and thank you.

Garland stove pilot light problem, again but different

I'm not familiar with Garlands. When I run into a similar problem with other stoves of that vintage (Wedgewoods, etc.) I trace the pilot lines piece by piece, from the manifold to the pilot burner, if necessary opening a connection or two to see where I'm getting gas and where I'm not.

Is there a needle valve for adjusting the pilot flame? Is there gas getting all the way to the pilot burner? When it's the pilot burner itself that's the problem, I take it apart, brush/blow/shake out the crud, and run a small drill (#79 or so) through the orifice.

60" double oven gas Garland stove

We use a Garland from the 1960's and pilot lights ARE scary and should make you nervous. This is why they are no longer allowed in new gas ranges. I mounted an inline gas shut off to the stove where the gas enters (on mine this is right in front on the left side). It turns on and off like a burner and when we are done cooking we simply shut off the gas there. To light the burners or the stove I use one of those long reach lighters. I go to bed knowing that NO gas is coming in.
We love the stove, it makes cooking more fun.
Good Luck!
