I bought a toshiba tv on 26-12-08 for my bedroom.just finished decorating and put my 32''on brackets on my wall.we got a free 5 year warranty with toshiba .i have telephoned toshiba and they have told me i have to apply on line,but cannot seem to find anywhere to register.i cannot phone the shop up where we bought it from because they have gone into liquidation(empire direct).my tv is a 32 inch and model number is AV55 digital series but cannot find it on the product is it about.thanks x

It sounds that there is any loose solder terminals at the main board, especially with the vertical scan output section circuit. It will be best to contact any service technician to get it repaired. Gopakumar Gopalan Google
thir is somecondensers on the tv needs to be changed especialy on pwer supply and vertical circuit it is easy fault but needs technication,,,but first be sure thir is no floresent lamp common with the same supply of the set
Chassis for your TV was bult in 1998 and put into mass production in the 1999. It was used in various TVs for over 3 years. So when it comes to decision wether to invest or not, first try to identify the problem and to estimete the repair costs.
Solder any / all bad connections in power regulator circuits,
good visual inspect for over-heated areas caused bad small
defective electrolytic caps...Use ESR meter to check,esp.
Horiz driver xformer area............................T.
there is no recall on sharp tv that i know about if your tv is still on warranty take it back to the supplier.if the warranty is finish call a tech the tv has a problem in the power supply and related circuit.good luck.
The power regulators are famous for going bad. The big problem with this TV set is that unless you use the exact regulator from Toshiba, this set will fail time and time again. Even if the regulator IC has the exact same number, it will not hold up. We used to have a shop that was authorized by Toshiba, and we seen this problem many times when customers would say that they had their TV fixed by some local shop and the same problem occured several times. We had the same problem, for the same model of Toshiba TV. Had it repaired yesterday. Turns out the problem was the power supply (P.C.B).
The total cost was $192.66 Canadian funds (taxes and labour all in). Our model was 6 years old, buts its playing like a brand new unit now. Hope this helped ...... Good luck
