Question about Washing Machines
My machine stopped dispensing water with an F30 error message. I have cleaned out the dispenser area with some vinegar due to our extreme hard water, and it worked for another three months, until the same error message occured this evening. When I turn the machine on, it locks the door, I hear the dispenser release the detergent, then when the water is supposed to run into the drum, it just clicks and there isn't any water going into the drum.
Possible that there is clogging in the inlet filter or valve, remove the hose to the inlet and check the flow,
Check this link to replace the inlet valve:

Remove the washer top panel by removing the three screws in the back of the washer that hold the panel in place. With the three screws removed, the panel will slide back, then lift off. This will give you a full view of your dispenser and components. I strongly suspect that you have a hose leading from the dispenser to the fill tube along the door that may be either kinked or clogged. Inspect the hose for any kinks. You may have to remove it and flush with hot water. Let me know what you find. I hope this helps.

check the holes of the dispenser, could be clogged with soap and liquid detergent. check the hose where the dispenser flows to the drum, it could be clogged also. open the door, trace the dispenser hose that is attached to the drum or to the big rubber gasket at the front. check and see if there is dirt accumulation or soap clogging the hole.

probable cause is there is an article of clothing that is stuck between the outer and inner tubs, in the area where the dispenser water and detergent enter the machine. you can run your hand around the rubber boot and you might be able to remove the article, it will be in the upper left part of the machine. if nothing can be found than you have a plugged up dispenser hose.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet dispenser problem
I had the same problem my fabric softener would not dispense.Close shut-off valves and take off the water hoses off the back of the washer and look for blockage on the screen.Mine was plugged up and after cleaning it off it works like new.

there is a hose that runs from the soap box to the drum to let the water into the drum if it is not connected or has perrished then that would explain the waterfall
