My HP DV9000 Will not start.

My DV9000 laptop has been starting properly. I would use control- alt- delete once or twice and would boot up. but the other day the screen developed lines. The computer froze up I tried to get out of it but that didn't work. I used the power button to shut it down. when I turned it back on it now won't start at all. I sounds like it is starting but shuts down after about 2 seconds then does it again and again. any ideas? I just hope I can get my pictures at the very least.

I understood your problem. Here i providing you perfect solution for this problem.
there is may problem with your screen driver cord(cable)
if you have sufficient knowledge about this then open your laptop's back cover.
> after that you will find small screws, remove them carefully.
>then you able to open the keyboard section
>Now at the area of Power Button and support of Screen there is pair of wires.
>Find tiny socket of that pair.
then remove it,clean it with alcohol then reconnect it.


If problem occur due to some Software malfunctioning the you have to format your laptop.

Restart the notebook, press F10 and check if you see the BIOS screen or not.
If you see the BIOS screen and if the notebook does not restart in BIOS then this could not be a hardware issue.
But if you do not see the BIOS screen, then perform the steps below :
1. Disconnect the ac adapter and remove the battery from the notebook.
2. press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
3. replace the battery and connect the ac adapter
4. turn On the notebook and check
If the issue persists then remove and replace the memory modules of the notebook and check it.
If the issue still persists then it could be a hardware issue and your notebook needs to be serviced.

I think its looking for a boot command from the card reader. Which means pressing the DEL or F10 or F2 key repeatedly while booting to get into your bios to change your boot order.

If it wont let you, try booting while pressing the F8 key, with luck it may bring up windows boot options, choose the safe mode. When up, Click on Start - all programmes - accessories - system tools - system restore - choose a date prior to problems. (This is for XP, Vista and Win7 slightly different)

Boot from your windows disk, and choose the repair option.

Or download, UBCD4Win , the ultimate boot cd for windows, This will load a windows shell system with loads of diagnotic and repair tools.

You could download and run Ubuntu without installing, that will give you access to any data files.

If none of this works, the only recourse is to re-install windows. But in
doing this, you will be re-formatting the hard drive which will remove all data on the drive.

If you don't have a copy of windows, you do have Ubuntu. I use it nearly all the time now, even though I have a dual boot system.

Hi,
You can try go to Start - Control Panel - Power Options and check what you want computer do when you close the lid of your laptop. Fix that and restart laptop to apply the setting.
If the boot up not complete and restart by itself, in my opinon, there is something wrong on the start up process, could be hardware malfuctions, could be a software not compatible. Try check the start up process to see.(use Start- Run: msconfig)
If this happen often, you should call the Samsung customer services to find out. Laptop i3 should still under warranty.

Boot error - requires control alt delete to recover


Bootconfig might be bad for windows not to start. Or could be a hard drive problem. Windows startup repair might work or you might have to reinstall the operating system. If this does not work then possible the hard drive has problems.

Try to remove the battery, hold on power button for about 50-60seconds, then plug-in the charger and turn the laptop ON, see what happens.

I get a bootmgr compressed error when i start my acer netbook its telsl me to hit control alt delete but this only repeats over and over how can i uncompress the bootmgr file so the netbook boots up


Boot Manager is the file controlling the boot security process and is corrupt.
Try and start in safe mode and run CHKDSK/F
If you can't get it to work, use your recovery disc and recover your system.

...to reboot your computer. I am really sorry, but that means that your windows wont start because root folder is corrupted/damaged. On HP machines usually f10 is restore button. If not that one try f8.Reboot your computer and start tapping f10 till you see restore options. Then have your choice.Good luck!

Need password


ok best thing to do is to start the computer up in safe mode

when you boot up computer it will say press a key to go to "boot menu"
press that key

then select boot up in safe mode

then log on as admin and delete the password

if that dosnt work then you will need to download and butn this to dvd

make sure yu do not choose the ods version and you choose the gui if there are two versions

the gui has a graphical usser interface the dos is just like comand prompt

then go into bios set to boot from cd then choose the password tools and use it to delete it

Wrong bios


The # 443694-001 refers to the cd set. You need to know which DV9000 you have. On this link you will see all the DV9000 models.:

You will need to use a friend's computer for the following.

Once you find the correct firmware, You can make a bootable CD by using Nero or Roxio burning software,these are the most common on computers nowaday.Once you make the bootable CD, you will have to set your laptop to boot from the CDROM. Then boot the CD you made and run the firmware update.
I don't believe you would be able to get a USB flash drive to boot in this condition.
