If you don't have a Tv tuner card or a video card with the video input feature,Then you don't have a video input.(Look where the monitor cord hooks to the pc,if you don't see video in,then the only way to get it would be to add a video card with video input.)

You can download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model computer/laptop and the XP orVista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click onthis link to download the drivers: -

Type of video card

The Compaq Presario SR1630NX desktop computer, has a PCI-Express x16 slot on the motherboard, for a PCI-Express graphics card.

The Presario SR1630NX came out in 2005.
PCI-Express 2.0 technology came out January 15, 2007.

The Presario SR1630NX uses the PCI-Express 1.1 technology.

You can use a graphics card based on the PCI Express 2.0 technology, however.

PCI Express 2.0 is Backward Compatible with PCI Express 1.1

You just won't get the full capability, of a graphics card based on the PCI Express 2.0 technology.

Will you notice?

NO

Can't get Picture on Monitor, replaced video card

Boot up into the setup, usually F2- in the video section look to be able to make a change from Onboard to PCI ...apply-save change and exit ...also make sure you have connected the monitor to the correct area...I , like a big dummy, have often just hooked it up to the first blue socket i saw and of course...not much happens.
I hope this helps you Fred, (if it came with drivers install them)
please leave rating, thank you kindly

I want to watch video from my camcorder on pc. My camcorder has a 4 pin ieee firewire port. How many pins does the compaq presario sr1420nx have for its ieee firewire port? Should I use 800mps cables

You are on the right track. The best way to hook your computer to your camcorder is the firewire connection. There are 4 pins on the small connection on your cam, but on the PC the firewire connection is bigger and has six pins on that end. You should get the best cable that you have access to, because speed is everything when you are dealing with video, I would get the 800mps. Just make sure to check your connections on the PC and the Cam to make sure you get the right cable.

I have Compaq 6710b and size of monitor change automaticaly to 800x600 and I can't modify it.

If your video resolution changed automatically to 800x600 and you cannot alter it, then it sounds like you need to reinstall the graphics driver. Visit the following link, then download and install the Intel 965GM Graphics Driver listed.

I hope this helps!
