No display in monitor

We have been using WYSE Winterm 3235LE for last several years in Windows 2000 Server operating system. Recently I have been encountering a peculiar/strange problem that after turning on the power switch on the terminal and flashing the Logos of WYSE screen, the monitor turns completely blank/black showing message "Sync. Out Of Range" However, we are using CRT 15" Samsung SyncMaster 551S. Would you mind please tell me how to solve this problem

This may be the problem with the WYSE driver. Ensure that correct driver is intalled and colour profile is compitable. Syncmaster is auto detected by window based OS.the message "Sync out of range" comes due to improper out put video signal.

I have a WYSE 3235LE thin client in a Sears retail environment. I need to reset the bios. There is a way to flash it from another terminal but the bad box won't boot. It stops with keyboard/mouse error....

The best solution for resetting the bios is to do a hard restart. This requires you to get to the motherboard and take out the battery for about 15-30 seconds before replacing it. By doing so, the temporary memory in the BIOS is erased and you will have you factory settings.

How to disable auto login on 3235le

Hit the ALT key and F4 while auto logon is counting down to cancel auto logon.

If you've forgotten the admin password you can perform a factory reset by holding down the 'G' key while powering the device on.

Problem with WYSE Winterm 3235LE

Tsaukpaetra is correct it's a resolution mis-match with the monitor you are using. If you have Rshadow loaded on the winterm you can VNC into it and change the resolution. If not you can hold down the letter "G" on the keyboard to perform a factory reset.

Howto add a network printer on Wyse winterm S30 terminal?

The S30 terminal has the CE 5.0 operating system loaded as default. So you are limited by the operating system and not the hardware when it comes to network printing.

Here is a extract of the release notes for Windows CE 5.0:

"In Windows CE, TCP/IP supports network printing through the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol. It does not provide the Windows Line Printer Remote (LPR) Spooler. However, independent software vendors (ISVs) and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can add this support."

In short, you need a 3rd party software program or a (SMB) printer server setup to setup network printing on the S30 terminal..

Wyse also have add-on software to help, if you have CE 5.0 loaded then try the "Thinprint" add-on supplied as a free download by them.
Download Link:
http://www.wyse.com/supportdownload/3series/Addon_ThinPrint_B0010.exe

I haven't tried this, so let me know if it works.

Wyse 1200LE - error - out of frequency

The display settings are not valid with the monitor. Either you are using a new monitor or you have changed the settings. If you are using a new monitor, swap with the old monitor and configure the appropriate refresh rate for the new monitor.

If you have changed the settings you may need to either reset all default settings, or setup a parallel unit and use the same key strokes to change the display settings on the problem unit.

Cheers..

Unusual problem

Perhaps the systems have accumulated dust on the inside, and therefore the unit could be overheating.

I have a 3235le with wince 2.12. How can I upgrade the RDP client to 5.1 or 5.1+?

I tried to do the same thing but ran into the same problem - I gave up. However, I have been successful in loading RDP 5.1 onto a Wyse 8235LE. Works great with full resolution RDP sessions!

Display problems

There is a hotfix you can download from the WYSE Website but you have to setup a FTP server to get it installed. An easier way that seemed to work for us so far is go into Control Panel -> System -> Memory Tab. Adjust the memory slider so about 1/4 of the memory is set aside for Storage Memory (The systems I changed had between 90-100% set aside for Program Memory leaving 0-10% for Storage Memory.
