Can't answer your screen question, but I can propose a workaround - your Toshiba laptop has a monitor port on the back - you can plug in a standard monitor, and ignore the cracked screen temporarily until you can replace it. hope this helps
The monitor port is the 15-pin analog VGA D-shell (female) port.

If your school has blocked such time-wasting web-sites, when using any of the school's computers, you risk suspension or expulsion from school, if you try to circumvent their blocking.
So, assuming that a cell-phone works inside your school, bring your own computer, and buy a "rocket stick" (it connects to the Internet via the cellular network), and connect that rocket-stick to a USB port on your computer. Voila -- "bring-your-own" Internet access. Monthly fees apply.
Vista Aero is dependent on your Graphics hardware, not on your motherboard. The onboard VIA/S3G is not going to be capable of running Aero, but you do have an AGP 8x port that you could buy a card for. Try picking up an ATI 48xx series card if you plan on doing some gaming. If you just want to run Aero, however, just about any card nVidia 76xx series, 86xx, 96xx, or any ATI 26xx, 36xx, or 46xx series card will do.
what you should have done was uninstalled the old motherboard drivers first as these drivers will be running the board although incorrectly, if you still have the installation disc run it as if to install, but it should show up with the option to uninstall the drivers.
Step 1 Power the unit off by unplugging its power adapter.
Step 2 Insert a paper clip in to the reset pinhole. Press and hold the reset button with light pressure.
Step 3 Power the device back on by plugging it in. Continue to hold the reset button.
Step 4 Watch the lights on the front of the router. The M1 & M2 should come on solid. When the M1 & M2 begin to blink slowly, release the reset button.
The unit will reboot itself and should be at factory defaults. If the M1 light is not blinking about once per second, unplug the power on the router and plug it back in.
If the M1 & M2 continue to blink rapidly, you held the reset button for too long. Power the device off and repeat the reset procedure.
