I think you have a freon leak...that would tell you why its not getting cold and why its not working now at all.

We ve had the Bosch fridge-freezer (KGU3201GB/01) for about 10 years. Suddenly this morning the freezer started losing temperature, which rose to -13 degrees and the alarm went off. We put the...

Hi Robert, sounds like the unit is not defrosting.

Try this to indicate defost issues.
1. relocate food in the freezer, turn the unit off for 2 days and leave the door open, this will allow total defrost.
2. clean, then restart unit with door closed, after and every 2 hours check temp, I feel you may find it will get to its operating temp reasonably fast and should stay there.

If this is the case, I suspect the defrost heater element has failed and needs replacing, this is the most common cause of your type of issue.

Hope that helps and please dont forget to vote. Regards Russ

I could not find the model but i assume it is a side by side.The model # should be located in the fridge side on the upper right hand corner on the fridge wall.On the freezer side in the back there is a cover with vents covering the evaporator coils. Remove the shelves,the cover to expose the evaporator.If the evaporator is all iced up your defrost themostat may not be working.The defost thermostat is located on top of the coils,it is a little round unit with 2 wires going to it.To check you can uplug it and put a jumper wire in the plug in to see if the defroster starts up.Make sure the fan is also working.Also check the drain (little round hole in the bottem of the drain pan) below the coils.Just poor a little water down it.If it is pluged you can use a small round tube and push it through the drain.Hope this helps,if so give us a 4 thumbs up. THANKS

Fridge Not Working

Your problem could be one of the following:

* compressor
* attachments to compressor (e.g.: relay, capacitor (if applicable) or overload protector)
* refrigerant (e.g.: restriction or leak)
* temperature control assembly

Contact an appliance service company.

remove freezer back panel and you will see a tray at the bottom with a drain hole in the middle and it is this which is blocked. if blocked with ice, clear with some hot water and make sure drain is free and water flows away

FREEZER WORKING - FRIDGE NOT WORKING

Ok, got it sussed! [well here's what I did anyway]...

Quite simply, I turned off the fridge-freezer at the mains overnight and in the morning, broke and chucked out the ice chunks that had lined up in the bottom of the freezer section and then turned it back on. I returned that night to see that it was working fine again! Hallelujah, I got my fridge back!!

So it seems that all it needed was a good long defrost, so far so good! I hope this solves your problem.
