Reformatting HCS725032VLA380

Is it your primary hard drive ?
Reformat hard drive to NTFS Windows XP allows you to easily format the hard drives with its inbuilt utility. Formatting the hard drive would forever delete all the files stored on it. There are two ways in which you can format the hard disk partition - from My Computer and from DOS. You cannot have a NTFS partition with allocation unit s above 4096.

Click on "Start," and then click on "My Computer." Right-click on the disk partition to format and then click on "Format." Click on the "File System" drop down box and select "NTFS." Click on the "Allocation unit " drop down box and select an allocation . It is recommended that you select the "Default allocation " option. Click on the "Start" button. b> Format the Partition from DOS b> Click on "Start," and then click on "Run." Type "cmd" in the 'Run' dialog box and then press "Enter." Type "format drive_letter: /FS:NTFS" at the command prompt and then press "Enter." Replace the 'drive_letter' here with the letter of the drive that you want to format (for example, format e: /FS:NTFS). For help on advanced formatting options, type "format/?'more" at the command prompt and then press "Enter." Keep pressing "Enter" as you read on. Hope it helps

HI

When you press the power up key please press the F8 key to see if this will take you into

if it does then try the last known good configuration option
or the repair my computer option

if this does not work

then please try this
press power on key
then straight away press the Alt+F10 keys together
this will hopefully take you into the factory recovery options
unfortunatly for some this will reformat your hard drive and you will loose
anythnig that you personaly put onto the laptop
if you are asked for a password please try the acer default one
which is 6 zero's 000000

Toshiba satellite 1135-S1553 randomly powers down

Hi

Thank you for your query

Please try the folowing

1) Switch on the Laptop
2) Press the F12, or del key to enter bios/setup
3) Leave it in this mode
4) If the laptop switches off, then your CPU is overheating and the heat sink will need to be replaced

Please book your laptop into a reputable PC shop for repair

Just ramdomly powers down

Hi

Thank you for query

Please try the following

1) Switch the laptop on
2) When you switch it on there will be a message advisig to press esc or F12 to go into setup, if this is not there then try pressing F12, esc or the del key
3) This will take you to a blue bios screen
4) leave the laptop in this mode and see if it powers down

If it does you are having a issue with the laptop overheating, it may be the vent is blocked or possibly the heatsink (Fan that sits on top of the CPU) is not working

If it does not cut out you know you have a software issue and this is probably best resolved by a full reformat

If this has been useful please leave positive feedback/vote/testimonial as this will help me greatly - Thank You again

Virus

Don't reformat it just yet. Tell us what OS you are using, and I can try to help.
I will assume you are using WIndows XP or Vista - what you can do, assuming you have kept your PC up-to-date, is try to run the inbuilt Microsoft anti-malware program.
Click Start, Run, type MRT and press Enter or click OK.
You should get the February 2009 version of the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool.
Do a quick scan and see what comes up. If anything is found, reboot and repeat the process doing a full scan (can take several hours).
That should fix and remove the most common virus infections. Let me know how you get on.

If you still need to reformat, you need to use the Dell recovery CDs that came with your laptop. These were a blue recovery/drivers CD and a purple CD for Windows XP sp1 or a green CD for Windows XP sp2. Not sure about other versions of Windows. There is no magic button to reformat with Dell laptops.

Reformat laptop

There should be restore partition on the hard drive. Right after you turn on the laptop press F11 to start the restore process.
It there is no option for that, press F1 after you turn on the laptop to enter the BIOS. Under Startup make sure the options for F11 are highlighted 'YES'. Please let me know if this helps. If you need restore disks, let me know.
