It Depends on the options given to it, but you may connect it to any pc/laptop etc with a Flash Lead, one end into the cam and othere in the usb port of your system, and if you are having,XP installed on your system, go to start, then goto: All Programmes and select: Windows Video maker , it will ask you to use an attached device, if it works , Congrats.

I need to connect a Sony trv950 camcorder to Adobe cs4, it only accepts firewire to capture video. and the emachine only has usb ports

Hello,
You can buy a PCI card for firewire and put it inside your PC case in an empty PCI slot. They are pretty cheap. In Canada / USA you can get them for about $30 from your local computer store, best buy etc..
Here is a link to best buy USA: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dynex%26%23153%3B+-+3-Port+FireWire/IEEE+1394+PCI+Card/6307392.p?id=1074787927900&skuId=6307392&st=firewire%20pci&cp=1&lp=1

Cannot upload video from my samsung camcorder as it tells me that the camera is empty however the card is full. My samsung camcorder is using mpeg and the program is mediashow it shoul;d be simple

Hi chucky56846
I'm not familiar with your system but since your camcorder is using mpeg files , Windows should be able to open them without a third party soft . Whith the camcorder connected to your pc and set on " play " , it should appear in the computer folder and you could normally copy the mpeg files on your hdd from there . Launch Cyberlink when done , using the copied files .
I hope this helps .
Best regards ,

Vidoes not compatible with PC.

The simplest way is to connect the AV cable from the DVD camcorder to a video card, which will convert analogue to digital ( such as Dazzle Digital Video Creator, which connects to a windows computer by a USB), play the video on the camcorder, and capture any clips you want with software such as Windows Movie Maker. You then have the Windows Media Audio/Video files on your computer.

How can i download better quality video from mini dv to pc

Hi there,

You do need a good capture card if you want the best quality. However these tend to be a bit expensive and I have found that if you have a DVD recorder with an i-link input, then copying to the recorder will give you excellent results. After you have made the recording, you can then edit it very easily with say DVD shrink on your PC.

It may even be cheaper to buy a DVD recorder with i-link features than having to buy a capture card!

cheers

Is this the right product for me

Hello,

Yes, but make sure the model type is what is listed below although they should all be the same today as there are no standards war. For your PC you will need a video capture card unless your video card has it, chances are it doesn't. You would have an adapter already that came with your video card that has plugs coming out. There would be 5 or 6. If you don't go to tigerdirect.ca or newegg.com and do a search for "video capture card" Prices range from $50 and up. Get one with the best warranty is my advice and if you wish I will find one for you from a reputable card maker. Just ask me by commenting below. And if you have any questions about the details below just ask me by commenting back to me.

My camcorder

You can transfer video from the camera to your pc by using an i.Link connection if your camera has it or you can use the supplied usb wire to connect it to your pc and transfer the video that way. If you do not have the cord it is easily obtainable at any camera repair or sales store.

Samsung VP-W95D Camcorder connection to a PC

I am sorry My friend, there is no digital output on the analog camcorders. You can however get a video capture card for your computer and connect up the video outputs and audio outputs from the camcorder to the video capture card. I have already converted all of my video tapes to DVD this way. Good Luck

Connecting analong camcorder to computer

The only Analog camcorder that has a USB Connection for transferring pictures or video is the SC-L770. The SC-L770 can transfer video (live or recorded) and still photos through the USB connection. You can also transfer audio using the audio cable provided. After installing the driver and software, you can begin transferring data using the software provided. Connecting to a PC 1. Connect a USB cable to the USB port on the PC. 2. Connect the other end of the USB cable into the proper terminal on the camcorder. (USB jack) 3. Connect the audio cable to the Line input jack of the PC. If the PC has no Line input jack, connect the audio cable to the MIC input jack. In this case, however, a noise may be produced depending on the PC. Notes: * If you disconnect the USB cable from the PC or the camcorder while transferring, the data transmission will stop and the data may be damaged. * If you connect the USB cable to a PC via a USB HUB or simultaneously connect the USB cable along with other USB devices, the camcorder may not work properly. * In this case, remove the other USB devices from the PC and reconnect the camcorder. Some other Analog Camcorders have a snapshot mode which allows you to take a still photo with your camcorder. However, you cannot transfer these to a computer unless you purchase additional hardware such as a capture card. Some capture cards have analog a/v inputs which will allow you to use the a/v outputs on the camcorder to connect to your pc and transfer images and video. You can purchase a capture card at most computer and electronics stores. Samsung does not support capture cards.
