My mouse touchpad stopped working all of a sudden. I have also enabled the synaptics touch pad in device settings in the control panel. after doing all these also my touch pad is not working.

Check the keyboard it's possible the touchpad has been deactivated. You can toggle fn keys (fn + f2) or any fn key that has touchpad drawn on it. If this doesn't help. Am afraid the touch pad connector has to be checked & replaced in computer repair shop

Mouse wont move

Are you referring to the mouse pointer when using the touch pad? To isolate the problem, try to use a USB mouse and see if the pointer will move. If the USB mouse works, then the touch pad could be disabled.

Refer to the user manual of the laptop and see on how you can enable the touch pad.

If same problem occur even though you're using a USB mouse, contact the manufacturer of the computer for second opinion or repair.

Good luck and have a great day!

I have an IBM ThinkPad T42 and until a few minutes ago my touch pad was working with no problems. I installed a wireless mouse and that works fine. But I cannot control the cursor with the touch pad or red...

Try going to Start>Control Panel>Printer and other Hardware and look for mouse pad or something like that. I think the problem is that you can only use either the mouse pad or the mouse, can't use them both at the same time.

Mouse touch pad problem Lenovo Y410 model notebook

Just above my keyboard there is a little black strip with little lights.
they are control buttons and if you tap one of them it turns the touchpad off and on (so it's very easy to do accidentally).

If you look really closely at the strip in good light (or restart the laptop to see them flash on and off) you'll see that one looks like a touchpad crossed out. Just press this to get your touchpad back.

If it doesnt solve the problem, I have noticed that the touchpad can be knocked out by a Window Update of something called ideacom. If you believe this could be the problem please clarify.

Touchpad not working

First check: Control Panel -> Mouse -> TouchPad On/Off

Second check for a button near the mouse pad, often there are buttons that will enable/disable the touchpad

Thrid use the shortcut key FN+F9(or what ever F key that is used by your laptop) to disable/enable the TouchPad.

Fourth try this software: http://www.kingzm.com/eng/files/download/MouseManager.zip

Fith
- Select Start, Settings, Control panel.
- Open System, click on Hardware, and Device Manager.
- Expand "Mice and other pointing devices", and double click on the entry below, that may be called "HID-Compliant mouse", or "Alps Pointing Device".
- Under "Device usage", choose "Do not use this device in the current hardware profile (disable)", and click OK.

My touch pad on toshiba will not work.

Hold down the function key and press F9. That enables/disables the touch pad. The function key is the one with the letters 'Fn' on it. If that doesn't work, let me know and I well explain the long answer.
Good luck, and let me know how you made out. and please rate my answer.
