My camera won't turn on..

When I was using my camera it randomly died. The lens didn't even retract. I thought that maybe the batteries needed to be changed, but that didn't help at all. I have tried many different kinds of batteries, ones made especially for digital cameras, recharagable ones, etc. None of them will work. I don't remember doing anything to damage the camera, I don't think it has any water damage or that it has been dropped. It stopped working after I had had it for about 7-8 months. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Canon Customer support is the place to go or the seller it is still under warranty- and if you are certain you have not inflicted damage to it- back it must go.

Hi I slipped in the garage and dropped the camera when it was on==batteries came out and lens of course didn't fully retract. Put batteries back in and the green light comes on and beeps but won't...

Sorry about your moms camera Terry... but it sounds like it needs the lens replaced. If the lens is stuck out at an angle you can *SNAP* the inner lens section back into place if you're lucky, and it will work again like normal.

I don't know your model, but a refurb lens can usually be installed for about $75 including return shipping. You should check the replacement cost of a used camera and see which is cheaper in the long run.

Hope this helps!
