When using the USB jack to connect the Yamaha NX-U10, it suppose to have the sound come through the unit. It used to work well. But now it only bus the power to NXU10 but NO SOUND.(I have tried this unit both on Window XP and Mac OSx 10.5, so it should not be the problem of USB driver.) However, using a stero mini plug cable to the Portable jack is fine, there were sound through this unit. What is wrong with the USB jack? How to fix it?

I have tried this unit both on Window XP and Mac OSx 10.5, so it should not be the problem of USB driver. I actually have a Sonny Vaio with Window XP and a iMac with OS 10.5.

However, using a stereo mini plug cable to the Portable jack is fine, there were sound through this unit.

There is no battery or external power adapter's problem. Powere supply is not a problem.

Hello,
This problem is associated with the USB drivers not being installed. I recommend reinstalling the device drivers and attempting to output sound.
I've found the manual online for you--> http://www.yamaha.co.jp/manual/english/result.php
In the search field type "NX-U10". Then click on the file to view the manual.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank You, Raph30

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

A most likely issue is that you would have to enable the audio port to use the Yamaha NX-U10 and not the built-in sound card of your computer.

Pls post back your OS and your PC's brand/model.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Alternately, you can use the audio line-in ( mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm) of the NX-U10 and connect to the green jack of your computer .

If still no sound, then it may be the drivers of the sound device of your computer that needs looking into.

Have you checked the batteries and/or the external

    Power adapter?

    or replace the USB cable?

  • Louie Role

A USB connector/cable would only have 4 wires; +5, GND, Data+ & Data-. Since the unit powers on using the USB's +5 VDC, then presumably the GND is also good. That would leave you with the 2 center wires for Data +/-. Any electronic checks then would be limited to the cable carrying these 2 wires and/or the circuitry they would lead to.

My usb powered speakers light up but my system still shows no audio device present

Hi, well windows must install the correct Drivers before your device will work. You need to check this.
As the speakers are powered by the USB port and require 5 volts to operate. Some USB ports do not have a full 5 volts DC and have current limiting. Your speakers may require more power then your USB ports can give. or try them with a Powered Hub.
Have you tried them in another computer? to see if they actually work?
Try, another USB port, try a powered hub.
Ensure that they show up in device manager, if there right click, and select upgrade Drivers, allow it to look for and install the generic driver.
make sure it is set as your Default device.
You may have to disable your onboard sound from the BIOS, first too.

I recently installed window 7 on my computer . my sound device is not working at all. In windows xp it was working properly.

You have to install the sound driver of your sound card / sound card chip inside the motherboard....only your computer mfg / MB mfg can provide you that....for Win7 i doubt if they will have one....
locate in google based on the type of sound chip u have...
the best other option is to buy a " USB Sound card adaptor" in Ebay for 1$,,,connect it to your USB port and conenct the speakers to that

My computer doesnt recongnize the speakers even though i have been using them just fine the last few days..whats wrong?

Hello...
Full details about sound issue in my website...
www.sureshayyar.110mb.com (Support page)

As an alternative u can do this (i am using this solution till date)

If u cant install the sound driver correctly, just buy a " USB Sound Adaptor" and connect it to the USB port and connect the speaker sound jack to the sound port in this adaptor....u will get back the sound....also keep in mind that u " may " have to disable onboard sound in BIOS, u may also have to make changes in the Control Panel / Sound and Audio Devices / Audio Tab / Sound Playback option... Click the drop down button and select the "USB Audio Devices/Headset"

You can get it in Ebay for $1 to $4 or google it to locate a place near u......

This is the one i am refering to(I bought it in Ebay for 1$)....u can buy something similar also....there are many available mfd from China, just plug and play on your USB port....

If you find this solution useful please leave a feedback and rating to this solution.

Regards....
All the best, my dear friend....

Help! Only my right speaker works on my new speakers! Do I need a new sound card?

USB headphones and speakers tend to operate independently of the PC's sound card, but you can determine if your sound card is the problem by plugging the speakers into a different computer. If both speakers work on a different computer, then the problem does lie in the original computer. If so, try a different USB port, especially one that is directly on the computer, not in a usb hub.

If only one speaker works on a different computer, I would troubleshoot the cord that connects the left speaker to the right speaker. Perhaps it is damaged or not connected fully.

Hope that helps.

The volume on my Yamaha NX-U02 speaker is very low, lower that the laptops themselves. All settings are at max.

Try your speaker with another computer. If it apears to work properly the problem is related to your laptop : USB port problem - This case have your laptop checked.

Get no sound out of speakers , what do i plug in? Green plug or usb plug

It is my understanding that the USb plug is to power the speakers and the green plug is the traditional plug to put into the sound card itself. Do you get sound if you plug it in like that?

Possibly the sound is muted or turned way down? Not trying to be a wise guy, just never hurts to check the simple things too
