Your TV has only A/V inputs. Red and White is to connect the audio outs of the streaming media, and Yellow for video. But here, your streaming media player have only HDMI output. That is, it is compactable only to TVs, which have digital inputs, where your TV has not. A converter [HDMI to A/V] in between the two devices will do it to work. There is no other chance.

SOURCE: The only connections that work

You'll need a DVD player that has component outputs. The composite carries the entire video information, while the component sends the three different color signals separately. The red and white cables are output cables. No all DVD players have the component outputs.

SOURCE: 27R410T 27" TV: our RCA Model 27R410T has maybe 20 hrs of total us...

Ok, well the good news is prize or NOT it is still covered by a warranty, that's the law, you need to contact your local RCA office, and ask them for a referral to an Authorised service center, and you will be able to make a claim, and in any event, that's where you are going to have to take it to be repaired in any event. The Consumer Act, indicates that anything sold must be of "Merchantable" quality, clearly any unit that fails after less than 24 hours use, falls into that definition. You simply have to find a Dealer, Service center, whatever, and in all fairness, they should take care of it, there may be some costs involved, but usually not. Below is a technical Service manual, this is what I use to train the engineers to repair these units, have a look, www.electro-tech-online.com/.../36401d1261034747-rca-32-television-32v434t-need-help-repairing-atc010_training_manual-1-.pdf

How to install RCA streaming media player on an old TV

I've had a quick look at some instructions online, can't be sure if I'm looking at the same device as you but.

Guesstimating, you're connecting via the composited A/V jack out from your box to RCA (red,yellow,white) inputs on your tv. Or the same but using a SCART converter.

If so, once you've turned it all on, you probably have to change to the correct AV input on your TV. Just keep pressing the AV button on your TV remote control, it should cycle through all the AV inputs until it gets to the one you require.

How do i connect a Blu-ray player to my TV

It should connect best to the one with blue,green,red and then the two for sound--red and white---This is component hookup.

once connected you select the input via the remote or menu..

The ones with the yellow, white and red are composite (yellow is video and color and red/white are audio---doubt it will work off blue ray unless similar outputs on that.

How do I hook up my little DVD player to my tv?? The DVD player only has red, yellow, and white cords,, where to I plug it in at on the back of the tv and which setting.

New Samsung HDTVs use the GREEN RCA input for the yellow RCA video cable, plug it in there. Select the AV input on the TV. For sound, connect white RCA cable to white RCA input on TV.

Is i possible to connect a rca cable to the converter box from a dvd player and watch on the tv?

DVD players can have several outputs:
* coaxiable cable
* composite video (RED/WHITE for stereo audio, and YELLOW for video)
* component video (RED/BLUE/GREEN to video components, plus RED/WHITE for stereo audio)
* HDMI

TVs can have several inputs:
* coaxiable cable
* composite video (RED/WHITE for stereo audio, and YELLOW for video)
* component video (RED/BLUE/GREEN to video components, plus RED/WHITE for stereo audio)
* HDMI

Just use the correct tables to "match" the output to the input.

My dvd player only plays movies in black and white. When I watch tv, it's in color so I know its not the tv.

Hi,

I suspect you may have connected a COMPOSITE cable (red/white/yellow RCA type) to the COMPONENT video input sockets on the back of the TV.

COMPONENT requires 3 RCA type video cables - the plugs and sockets are usually colour-coded red, green, and blue. COMPOSITE only uses one RCA type video cable - the plugs and sockets are usually colour-coded yellow.
If you connect the yellow video cable to one of the three component inputs you will get a black and white picture although you will still have audio if the red and white cables are correctly connected.

If you are using a COMPOSITE cable (red/white/yellow RCA type), please check your connections. Make sure you have not connected to any sockets - either on the TV or the back of the DVD player - under the heading of "COMPONENT" - or individually marked "Pr", "Cr", "Pb", "Cb" or "Y".

If you have verified that you are using the correct sockets on the TV and it still doesn't work or if you are using any other type of cable, please let me know which cable you are using and the model number of the TV and the DVD player. I will then be able to assist you further.

Regards,
BElectric

II HAVE A 13 INCH BRAND MODEL DWT 1304. I JUST WANT TO USE IT FOR A DVD PLAYER. I HAVE NO REMOTE ,HOW DO I CHANGE THE TV TO PLAY DVD OR VEDIO

Connect the composite video RCA (yellow) cable output of the DVD player to the TV's video input RCA (yellow jack). Connect the red and white RCA cable from the DVD players audio output to the TV's audio input (red and white jacks). Select the source input from the TV's control panel - if it has an input selector switch, set it to select the video source from the front panel input jacks if you connected the three cables - yellow, red and white on the front of the set. Or, change the channel to receive the video auxiliary input source instead of the broadcast station.

How to connect dvd player to tv

In order of best to worst quality, and depending on which connectors both have.
1. Hdmi ( Video and Sound in one cable )
2. RGB also known as color stream (Red,Blue, and Green RCA ) Sound Seperate ( Red and White RCA )
3. Composite ( Yellow RCA ) Sound Seperate ( Red and White RCA ) sometimes mono (single sound RCA)
4. COAX (cable) which most DVD players don't have.

All RCA connections on devices should be center color coded And grouped by connection Video 1 Video 2 ect.

I have a dvd player drc212 that i have no

Hi Tana,

If your TV is supplied with a video input, you will need a set of Composite Baseband video cables commonly known as RCA cables (Yellow, Red, White).

See the last paragraph if your TV is not supplied with a video input.

You will connect the Yellow (Video) from the DVD's video output, to the Yellow (Video) input on the TV set; example is VIDEO 1 or AV1.
You will connect the Red (Right Audio) from the DVD's Red Audio output, to the Red (Right Audio) input on the TV set using the same input number as example above.
You will connect the White (Left Audio) from the DVD's White Audio output, to the White (Left Audio) input on the TV set using the same input number as example above.

Turn on DVD, and TV set. Select the proper input on the TV set using the input button (video, source, AV select, etc.)

If your TV set is not supplied with a video input only a coax cable input, you will need an RF Modulator which can be purchased at any Best Buy, Radio Shack, Wal-mart, etc. You will also need a small coax jumper (3 to 6 foot should do it), and a set of RCA cables (Yellow, Red, White) as described above. The RF Modulator comes with instructions on how to connect it. It has a coax input, RCA input and a coax output that will connect to your TV set.

I hope this helps. Cheers.
