The light indicator for the battery is; green-charging, yellow-battery failure, and red-charging system failure. The charging system failure happens when the power management chip fails. The pm chip regulates and controls the power input & usage, allows the machine to switch from AC to battery, and cotrols the charging. This will also cause the problem with the power button not workin or being hard to start. Unfortunately, the motherboard will have to be replaced in order to fix this.

SOURCE: dell d610 wont turn on ac adapter light is green

There is a small IC that Dell solders into their power supply as well as their batteries. When this parts fails you will have the type of problem you are having now. If you do a search on the web you will find a large number o sites that discuss this. Unfortunately there is no fix other than replacing your power supply. I had to do the same thing myself for the Dell laptop I use.

Dell latitude e6410 chargin fault ,will run on dc adapter but shows not chargin ,battery not conected

  1. If the motherboard has ever been replaced, check the service tag section of the BIOS. If it is blank, enter the service tag off the bottom of the system. (The charging circuit will not work without it.)
  2. Also in the BIOS see if the AC adapter is identified or is listed as UNKNOWN. If the system cannot ID the adapter as a Dell Branded AC adapter 90w or larger, then the charger is again disabled. If unknown, check the barrel end of the DC jack of the adapter for the fine wire in the center, if broken or bent, then the adapter is not identified.
  3. Try with a different Dell branded 90w or larger D or E series adapter.
if all the above make no difference, and the Adapter is recognized, the battery may be at fault.
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3743571-long_will_battery_in_portable_computer
if the adapter is unknown, replace the adapter, unless it works normally on another system, and the other system's adapter has the same issue, in that case the motherboard is likely the issue.
Note: a 65w Auto/Air adapter will only charge the battery if the system is OFF

My dell latitude d610 ac power is work is properly but battrey is not charging plz tell me soulition.

If the D610 works when attached to the AC Power Cord, it is likely that your battery is not capable of taking a charge and needs to be replaced. I have 2 D610 Dell Latitudes and they are very good laptops.

How do I get my computer to recognized my new ac power adapter?

The computer doesn't need any drivers to recognize an AC Adapter. If you have purchased the correct AC Adapter for your laptop then it should just work when you plug it in. If it does not then my guess is either you have received a faulty AC Adapter or the DC Jack which you plug into in the back of the laptop is bad.
I am assuming your battery is dead and when you plug it in and turn it on nothing happens?
You can also try taking the battery out and try to power it on with the AC Adapter plugged in.

The Dell Latitude D610 takes a PA-10 or PA12 AC Adapter. It's 65W or 90W

For 90 watt Adapter the output voltage on your AC Adapter label should read 19.5V and 4.62A
At least that's what the Dell brand reads so it should be close to that.

Dell Latitude states connect 65W or higher power adapter, eventhough, I have connected multiple 65W and 90W power adapters.

Hi Friend, In this case I believe, you can try updating the BIOS of the system and check if that fixes the issue. You can find the BIOS drivers from the following link:
hhttp://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=LAT_PNT_PM_D610&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=
But please make sure to connect the AC adapter while updating the BIOS
Also please make sure to select the Operating System that is installed on the system
Please let me know if it was of some help?
Thank you.

What would cause white moisture film on a power supply board? This is for a 51'' hitachi

Condensation could occur on any surface that was cold and then exposed to moist warm air but to create that inside a set?
If the white deposit isn't really moist, it may be the residue from a circuit board that was poorly cleaned. These are about 95% wave soldered on the underside and the solder has loads of flux floating on top of the solder to ensure a good flow of solder on leads and the board. The flux can produce a white deposit if it isn't thoroughly removed in a solvent bath. The component side of the board is mostly soldered via a 'reflow' method that reheats a tin/lead film on the component and the 'land' on which it is soldered. The amount of flux used in this process is quite small and rarely any flux survives even a lousy cleaning cycle. I've seen a bunch of circuit boards and have occasionally seen traces of flux irregularly present on them but never enough to appear like a consistent film.
If you have a film or deposit surrounding individual components, especially capacitors, this can be caused by the loss of electrolyte from a failing capacitor and is a sign of coming (or already developed) problems. Once this chemical (which does leave white deposits) has leaked, the capacitor is shot and needs replacement.

LIGHT COMES ON AC ADAPTER BUT GOES OFF WHEN PLUGGED INTO NOTEBOOK

This is possibly an internal power Supply fault. take the battery out, plug in the adapter, IF the unit works now, you have A: A battery problem, or B: a charging circuit problem. If the unit still fails to work, the power supply in the PC has faulted. You need to get a "Quote: for a repair.

My Dell Laptop D610 wont turn on. It was on, I

Turn off laptop, Remove the battery and the power cable and press the power button for about 30 seconds.

Check for light on AC adapter.
Try with battery alone. Try with AC adapter alone.

Try with a different adapter of the same kind.

else the issue could be with the main board for which I would request you to contact the manufacturer.
