Intel DG31PR Motherboard not booting

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz (E7300 - 45nm)
Motherboard: Intel DG31PR
RAM: Transcend 2GB (800 Bus) X 2 = Total 4GB
HDD: 320GB Samsung
----------------------------------------------------
This pc was working great. I bought 2GB A-data (800bus) DDR-2 RAM first. Then I decided to make it 4GB, Then I returned A-data RAM to the store and bougth two 2GB Transcend 800bus DDR-2 RAM. After attaching those RAMs the PC isn't booting. Motherboard's green (5v SB_PWR) light is on but got no response when I press the power botton. I tested the power switch, Itz ok. I re-assembled everything but still having same problem. Also CPU and chasis fans are remaining off. I tried attaching single ram and tested both slot but no change. Pls help. Just wondering can it be a electro-static discharge problem??? Thanks in advance.

It was a great relief... after that I removed that RAM and attached my 2GB Transcend RAM, found itz working too... then I attached another 2GB RAM and it worked too... now entire 4GB RAM and everything working great.... my god!!!! Don't know what happened and how it solved... anyone has any idea about this??????? Thanks "wjcb" for your kind reply.

You could try reseting the Bios settings using the jumper of the motherboard after installing the new Rams. Anyways ,its working, so don't do that now :P .

Since your pc is just working great before you installed those rams, you just need to reset your processor, to do it: gently pull out the processor from your motherboard, be sure to do it carefully so that no further damage can be made into your motherboard then clean the copper side of your processor with a pencil eraser and apply a small amount of silicon grease or silicon paste of your processor then insert it in the processor socket and after install the heatsink. Hope this works

Good luck

Do i have to face any heating problems with the mentioned config?

If you are NOT going to overclock the CPU and memory, it should work easy.

New C2D processors are quite cool.

Also you shoult pay attention to a good Power supply, and maybe enough big case with place for front and rear extra fans,
If you face heating problems later, you may put those two fans.

Regards.
