Make sure that the program controller is working if not check power - step down supply, the pads are responding- if not faulty pads- or the door switches, if the switch contact are not good then it will not trigger the processor to switch on the waveguides. If the lights or fan work without any display or action of program being triggered to start then it can be a possible fault on the main board or the processor. Sometimes insect secretion can short the board and display panel and so the processor can work in such an erratic manner. If so clean, solder and reset the board. Now identify the parts by clicking this link: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/microwave/a/5/141/identifying-microwave-parts.html

If there is no heating please do not switch on unless you have confirmed the fault. It is possible that the Magnetron is faulty, the temperature cut off is faulty or the main capacitor is short. It is also quite possible that insect can get into the oven and create soft spots. When you switch on these will create a short and make the voltage jump and in the long run damage the magnetron. Hi, Re: Miele H187MB combi microwave. It was fine until a power-cut due to the icy weather. When power restored, display came on, but when I went to adjust time setting the display showed '0--o'.?

WARNING, Please read through to the bottom.
Usually if the fuse is blown there is no power at all but there should be one bus fuse inside it.
I have fixed a few by changing that.
I don't know if you have tried this but you could try unplugging it and plugging it back in.
Somethings will reset when you do that.
I got a nice TV once because they thought the sound was broken and bought a new TV.
If they had tried that it would have worked.
I unplugged one to replace the start switch and put my hand on the capacitor. It was unplugged but it knocked me out - I came to on the floor.
Yesterday I was watching a show on Netflix called (Strange and Unusual Deaths and on of the was about a man who got killed in that same way, Guess I was lucky.
For him the charge went through his hart.
Point being - be very careful, read up about things you can do to stay safe, such as grounding your self.

LG Microvave just stopped all at once as if the power went out. Nothing will respond. I checked the outlet is fine.

you may have blown a fuse if there is no power display...the fuse unfortunately is located in control panel... it usually is either a 15 amp or 20 amp fuse... do not put a larger one in or a smaller. to test the fuse if you cant visible see it is bad you will need to ohm out and should get continuity ...if the fuse is good and you have no display most likely the pcb or board is bad.... good luck

Oven has been working fine. Heating a cup of coffee it just stopped dead. No display. Nothing. Power to outlet working fine. Is there a reset somewhere?

Mine did this when my wife had it on full power for over 10 minutes. We left it set for 15 or so minutes and it came back on. It did the same thing when my niece was heating a liquid with some metal in it. It eventually came back on. There must be a thermal circuit breaker inside the unit. Yours may have a fuse or some sort of circuit breaker inside it, that needs replacing or resetting. Then again some units have a fuse that goes out when the Magnetron shorts out, or goes bad. This would require replacing the Magnetron as well as the fuse.

Panasonic NN-S789WC - No power on Display, Fuse OK, bulb Lights

The fuse will be a white or gray ceramic fuse, and you really can't tell if it's blown without actually measuring it. If a new fuse blows when you hit START, you probably have a shorted high voltage capacitor. If you have replaced the fuse and still have no display, then it sounds like there's a problem on the control board. The control board has a built-in surge protector which can short (and smoke) and when it does, it will cut the power to the control board, but not blow the fuse. We repair these nationwide for only $39.95 postpaid. If you or a friend want to check it out or send the control unit in for serivce, we have *critical* safety and disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
