Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: standby button stuck

Hello. Check all of the buttons on your unit to make sure that they are not stuck...you can feel the click they make as you push it then they pop back out as your finger pulls off. Any stuck button will lock up your microprocessor and keep the unit from turning on. All other problems will require a consumer electronics technician to trouble-shoot the turn on circuit. If you know how to use a meter and know how to solder\unsolder and require further assistance you can contact me. Good luck.

SOURCE: No Sound - LCD Volume says 99

Found a solution that works. Power down the receiver. Unplug it from the wall. Wait 10 minutes. Plug it back in and power it back up. Worked like a champ to fix this exact problem with my TX-SR601.

SOURCE: I need to find out

Your Instruction Manual is available here:

http://filedepot.onkyousa.com/Files/own_manuals/TX-SR701_601_E.pdf?CFID=1462271&CFTOKEN=56240048&jsessionid=f030b5db65290e4672cd68304f1939312a33

Beginning on page 63 there is extensive information on the use of remote controllers.

It was not clear; are you using your TX-SR601 remote or are you using another remote?

If your remote is unable to 'learn' your receiver and your code is not included in the Manual , recommend you contact Onkyo Customer Support:

Need remote code to use Charter Cable remote in place of Denon remote - it is a AVR-S510BT model

The code would be in the remote. If your Charter remote is universal, you can use code search to find what you need. If a search through all codes stored in the remote is unsuccessful, you may have to try a different universal remote.

Message states the power to zone 2 is not activated when trying to listen to zone 2 speakers. Nothing in my manual about this message. How do I activate power to zone 2 on a tx-sr601

Page 77:

"Not available in Zone 2 mode" Setting not allowed because the Zone 2 mode is turned on.

"Zone 2 is not On" Will not work because the Zone 2 has not been turned on.

TURN ZONE 2 ON.

Page 55 shows the prerequisite settings for using the surround back terminals for Zone 2.

Page 60 describes USING Zone 2 and points out that only analog sources can be used with Zone 2. Are you trying to use digital sources? Read the notes regarding REC OUT.

Add another power amp to line outs from your main amp to your speakers this will give more power(current) to your main speakers as you have decreased load on main amp

Onkio receiver

The output transistors should be replaced in pairs. Also, It may not be just the output transistors that are defective. If you have no experience with these types of repairs, I would suggest that you bring the unit to a service shop. The outputs will run about $15-$25 per pair.
