    I am unable to properly identify the printer model "epson stylus pht 250". Have you identified it correctly?

I see now that your printer is an Epson Stylus Photo 250. The error E90 is not defined, other than "contact Epson". However, other users have reported that clearing an obstruction fixed the problem. Try this.

Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head starts to move, pull the power lead out of the printer, or turn it off at the mains. The print head should now be free to move by hand. Gently move it backwards and forwards to see if there is any obstruction. Look into the print head parking area on the right - does anything there appear to be causing an obstruction? Report back.

An e-90 error is a fatal error with the printer itself, the only solution is to contact Epson if the unit is still under warranty. Otherwise I understand the fix is more cosstly than the printer. The error seems to be reported most when a new black cart. is installed, you could try reseating the cart, powering down the unit for 15 min and then plugging back in and see if that will reset the printer. E-90 error message on Epson CX6000


If the error code E-90 appears on your Stylus CX control panel display, the print head may not be able to move back and forth freely.

If the ink cartridge cover is not completely closed, the print head may have trouble moving back and forth. Follow these steps to close the ink cartridge cover:

  1. Turn off the Stylus CX.


  2. Lift up the scanner.


  3. Press down on the ink cartridge cover to make sure it is completely closed.


  4. Close the scanner and turn the Stylus CX back on.

If the packing materials are not removed, the print head will be unable to move and the error code E-90 may appear on the control panel display. Follow these steps to remove the packing materials:

  1. Turn off the Stylus CX.


  2. Lift up the scanner to access the printer area.


  3. Remove the tape from the ink cartridge holder.

I have error code e 90 on my epsom printer


Generally the fix for most "e 90" error messages on Epson printers is to check under the hood of the printer for something that is there and shouldn't be, eg. glue stick, pencil, paper jam, etc. Most e 90 error messages are solved by simply removing something that shouldn't be there. If, in fact, that doesn't fix it, you should try removing the printer catridges and re-setting the printer. If this still does not fix the problem you should try contacting the Epson Customer Service department and try and get a replacement printer, considering this is surely a hardware issue.

Error E-90


error E-90 means that something is stopping the ink carriage from moving its full extent. Open the scanner and check that the ink carriage lid is firmly locked down, check along the path of the carriage for any foreign/loose objects. Use an alcohol wipe or similar & gently wipe the plastic registration strip that goes through the top rear of the ink carriage. Be careful not to dislodge or damage it. If the carriage moves when you switch it on, pull out the power cable when it is across to the left and check for loose gears or foreign objects in the gears on R/H side. Hope this helps.

Hi-


E-90 error is a carriage error. You can reset printer by turning it off and unplugging it then check inside the printer after opening the top cover, check for any parts that are damage or any foreign objects inside.
Then replug and turn it on, if all fails then chances are the product is damage or broke. call epson if you still have a warranty for replacement or have it service.

E-90 error is an indication of an internal problem on the printer itself. The only thing that you can check/do is to power cycle( turn it off and unplug from power supply) the printer and check for obstruction inside and press on the cartridge cover on the right hand side of the printer but do not manually move printhead to position where you can take the cartridges out it will damage the printhead. then replug and turn it back on. if you get the same error, check for date of purchase if its still within warranty call epson for replacement and a set of ink will be included with it. Hope that helps.
