Can you be more specific, is the spindle shaft jammed.? If so check for bearing failure.

Sounds like your motor may be shot. Or possibly one of the pully's bearings are seized and is causing so much resistance the motor is unable to overcome it.

WIDL146 - washing cycles stop dead after pumping water into drum

You could very possible have a faulty heating element. If water does not heat, the cycle will not continue unless you forward it by hand. Buy a reasonable voltage/ resistance tester and do resistance test across element. You should get approximately 25- 30 ohms. If resistance is present, look for reset switch in the vicinity. If not, connect tester to heater wires and set reading to 250- 300volt reading. Start the cycle one click at a time and note if the element voltage ever reads on the meter. If not, your timer must be replaced.

My washer wont do the spin cycle. everything else work fine but no spin

Hi,
The reason the washer won’t spin is due to the either of the latches on the door.
This model uses a two stage lock that latches the door when the load starts, and then when it is time to spin, the second lock engages to ensure the door is properly secured prior to beginning the spin. When this second lock engages, it also closes a set of switch contacts (the auxiliary door switch) telling the control board the door is closed and locked. If for some reason this switch is not closed, the washer will tumble during what would normally be the spin cycle until the entire cycle is complete.
On the entire Frigidaire ATFxxxxxxx line of front load washers, if the secondary door lock fails, the unit will not spin. If you suspect this is the reason your washer is not spinning, do a check of the error log and you will find an E47 error has been logged. This error indicates the control board thinks the wax motor has failed because the auxiliary switch never closed. The customer will not see this error in the display, but it will be stored in memory. A quick resistance check of the wax motor will tell you if it has failed. Expect 1K to 1.5K of resistance from most of the wax motor heaters.

After finding the E47 error stored in memory, I would request you that the switch be removed from the outer door seal spring so you could pull the switch out the front. A quick resistance check showed the wax motor was open electrically so it was no longer working. Install a new switch assembly
, reattached all the wires along with the door seal. And now the washer will wash and spin.

Thank You for using Fixya.com

Ariston Margarita 2000 NOISY spin cycle....

Remove drum drive belt, and spin drum by hand, if there is any resistance,. or it feels rough or noisy, the the main bearigs have probably failed.
If it is o/k then check motor for worn or noisy bearings,
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Maytag belt problem

Sounds like a partially seized component. The belt will work under average load, but when it reaches spin cycle where it must run at high speed it may be encountering too much resistance from the component that it is spinning. Was there a whining or squealing sound? Did you notice any smoke or odour? Perhaps a failed bearing may be to blame, or an errant piece of clothing. My machine is a Maytag front loader and I can easily turn the drum with my fingertips. I don't know what machine you have, but basic mechanics tells me that the motor is spinning and the piece the motor is trying to spin via the belt is resisting. Hope this helps. Cheers!
