SOURCE: Maytag dryer [electric] MED9600 lights up but won't start

Your motor has fried. It isn't in the Control Panel, the SENSES light wouldn't turn on if it were the CP. If you go to your closest Home Depot, ask the front desk for assistance with Dryer Motors. They will guide you through to get you the right one. They will even tell you how to install it. When you replace it with the new motor, the Dryer will work fine.

SOURCE: Maytag dryer [electric] MED9600 lights up but won't start

Possible causes for your issue include:

Blown fuse
Timer or motor inoperative
Housing wiring not properly connected to dryer
Bad door switch
Faulty "Push to Start" switch

It would probably be best to have a professional pinpoint the exact defect.

SOURCE: my maytag dishwasher appears dead just after 1 year

You probably have a bad main control or console control unit in there. Turn power off to the machine, be sure that BOTH of your door switches are ok. Unplug your membrane to control panel ribbon cable, then put everything back in place. Leave the door open, then turn power back on to machine. (also, be sure the thermal fuse hasnt tripped while your in the console). After re-appling power, close the door, and wait a few, if the console unit is bad, the machine will go into drain mode (you will here the unit start in drain). If no drain mode, then your control is shorted. You dont have to see any burn marks, etc for one to be bad, in fact, 98% of the boards we replace, dont show any signs of problems. Let me know what you find out.

SOURCE: maytag neptune dryer mde5500ayq replaced old motor

Compare the wiring connections on both motors. They may be marked. They may be different. Careful examination will determine the start and run wires. Other wires turn on the heat once the motor reaches running speed. The thermal fuse for the motor is internal and unservicable. The hi limit sensor will control the heat, but will not necessarily turn off the motor.

MY maytag neptune dryer center wont start when I press the start button on the bottom unit it shows PF

The PF is a power failure code and it indicates the control is not sensing any line voltage
Check the circuit breaker for the dryer is not tripped. The PF could be caused by a voltage drop during a storm but you should be able to clear it and run the dryer

Maytag dyer problems

it sounds like the control board is going bad but i wouldn't buy any parts for this dryer, soon you won't be able to get parts for it,put the money into a new dryer not to mention that the neptune products is what took maytag out and now whirlpool owns maytag.you could also have a problem with one of the connections or a bad wire in one of the connections and when you move the wires it's working again and this could be from the heat, after years the wires get brittle, you could buy the new board, put it in and if it's a wire you're back to square one,but from what you say it's either a wire in one of the connections or the board.good luck with your dryer.

Need trouble shooting proceedure to enter self diagnostics for maytag neptune

From the service manual there is more to it but that was all I could put here.
Accessing Service/Diagnostic Mode:
Pressing down the damp dry and time (-) keys
for 5 seconds places the machine in the
diagnostic mode.
SPECIAL TESTS
The following table lists the various tests
available while in the Service Mode, which
can be accessed by pressing the following
keys:

Accessing Diagnostic Codes
After the machine is in the diagnostic mode,
a ‘d’ will display and let the technician know
they are in the diagnostic mode. Pressing the
wrinkle release key will access the diagnostic
codes. The diagnostic codes can be viewed by
using the temperature (^) & (v) keys.
The down arrow key will sequence down the
list one each time it is pushed with no wrap.
The first time the down arrow key is pushed
the display will sequence to the next code
logged. The last code being displayed being
the oldest code. The up arrow will sequence
up the list one code each time it is pushed
until it reaches the top code. If there are no
diagnostic codes available, ‘00‘ will be
displayed for the diagnostic code.
There will be no multiple occurrences of
either a diagnostic code or help code generated
in the same cycle reported on the list.
But if the same code occurs in repeated

My Goodman furnace wont light.

Open up the unit to get to the control board. Make a short jumper wire and disconnect the wires going to R and W terminals on the board. Connect the jumper to R and W. Depress the door safety switch. The circuit board should indicate a call for heat and the furnace should start. If it doesn't, look for a fuse that may have blown either on the circuit board or in the wiring. If the unit started by jumping the W and R but does not when you reconnect the thermostat, you either have a bad thermostat or a bad thermostat wire.

My Maytag dryer model number MDE5500AYW has lights on, but won't switch settings. It is stuck in time dry at 18 minutes. Yesterday it was on sensor dry 47 minutes. Do I need a new control board inside...

OK, your control board and LED are integrated, so you will need to just replace the control board. I would try a hard reset before replacing the board. Pull the plug or, shut down the appropriate breaker switch for 5 minutes. Re apply power after the 5 minutes are up. if you continue to experience this fault, replace the control board asap.

Dacor error messge

The Door lock safety circuit on power relay board sensed. Check your power relay board and door lock circuit. F9 indicates the problem is with the lock circuit. Shut the power off and see what happens if nothing then do the checks. You can have a problem with the latch assm. the lock switches the relay or even the ERC (electronic range control).
