Check rear AC in van and turn it off. Most vans have dual AC. Even if the front AC is off, the rear is still usually on and some vehicles have the cooling fan and condenser fan run together to help with cooling. Check relay and fuse also.
Sounds like alternator (generator) is at fault. Voltage at battery should read about 14 volts when charging. Sometimes onlythe regulator (diode pack) on alternator is at fault some can be changed without having to have a new alternator (not sure about yaris)
battery draining at rest. check for drain turn off all accessories. disconnect ground. attach a testlight in the bridge between battery and ground cable. if the test light glows start removing fuses one at a time until the light goes off. replace each fuse that doesnt quelch light immediately. when you quelch the light you have a circuit to inspect thsat is draining the battery
Hi,
This is a sign of a faulty battery. Try to drain the battery completely. Check if there is a button that you can press on the battery to drain its power. Drain the power and charge it at least for 30 mnutes before using it. See if this solves your problem.
If not, you have to replace the battery pack.
Hope this helps.
Do check and turn off your bluetooth and Wi-Fi. because of that system may get heated up and sudden drain out of the battery. if problem persists, then your battery is a faulty one.
Thanks
It is normal for a two-way radio to generate some heat, especially during extended periods of long talk time.Consumer two-way radios tend to be much more susceptible to this because they tend to be constructed out of materials that do not dissipate heat very efficiently, such as polycarbonate and plastic.Periods of heavy transmit times also use additional power, causing the radio’s batteries to run down more quickly and require replacement or recharge.Use of the display backlight feature can generate additional heat and run the unit out of battery power even more quickly.
If the radio is heating up excessively and burning through batteries (pardon the pun) in situations where you are not using the LCD backlight excessively or transmitting for long periods of time, this may be indicative of a problem with the unit that would require service, such as a short or defective component. If such is the case, I would recommend contacting the manufacturer.
