Question about Technics SL-1200 Turntable
Hi may name is simon. i brought a second hand pair of technics 1200's mk2 of a friend but after having them for a few months the top of the power switch ( the bit with on and off wrote on it) came off and the copper bar that turns the turntable on . fell in its whole and i would like to know how to fix this particular area of a 1200. i am aware i can get the conversion kit for it and i will be but i kinda need my decks soon. i would be grateful for your help any 1
There should be a metal bit in the middle of that switch housing, sorta like the spindle on the platter, it should have one flat edge just get some pliers and twist the metal bar in the middle clockwise, until you replace the switch that will be the only way to swtich it off and on.
ive done this before many times, and sometimes in clubs the decks are in bad shape, so i always bring pliers, just in case!
