Question about Rheem Paloma PTG-74PVN / RTG-74PVN Natural Gas Indoor
I've had my tankless heater for about 3 years now. It was working fine and then just stopped working, no hot water, no water at all. The cold water pressure, electricity and gas supply are all fine. I removed the cover and checked the 3 fuses that I could find - all good. I had this problem once about a year ago but the unit just began working again. This time the remote flashed "21" and then "3E". Any suggestions?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

This is there website.Above.
Use the live chat to ask them, the code you listed does not seem to correspond to there code list, the only code that does is code 76,
which is a problem with the remote control not talking to the unit.
So your best bet is to tell them the error.

I was having the same problem untill I reallized it was my venting system. Test the water heater with no vent on top. Disconnect the vent pipe from the water heater and try turning on the hot water. the water heater needs a special adapter to vent the direct vent water heater. One other thing you can check is the gas pressure in your home. You have to have between 7 and 8 WC (water Column) for the tankless water heaters. You can call your gas supplier to find out what you have.

have you checked the error codes on the heater?
you can do this by powering off the controler and pressing the up and down keys for a few seconds. this should take you into the diagnostics mode scroll using the up and down keys till you find the one that has the letter E on it and that will give you the last 8 error codes write them down and get back to me

I had the same problem with my Paloma a year and a half after installation...contacted Rheem customer service (800-432-8373) and they recommened a local installer in my area. The technican diagnosed the problem as the "flow control valve"; he managed to get Rheem/Paloma to cover the part under warranty...I only had to shell out the money for the install.
