The problem might be blade drift, feed & speed rates. Are you using a fence? Do you have a good blade? I had pretty good luck with my Haltbar blades of www.sawblade.com . Does your blade track properly? Check this blog site . This might help too.

Thank you. I just ordered a new blade at the place you suggested.

Good to hear that. I've been using Haltbar blades for more than 5 years and got no problems at all. I'm such a happy customer.

Ryobi band saw blade does not cut straight

The side guides should be just off touching the blade (top and bottom) The thrust bearing behind the blade should be just off th blade while it is free running (T & B). The amount of blade exposed to the timber needs to kept to a minimum - like top guide abou 1/4" above timber. Then, correct tension for blade size :)

Blade will not stay on cutting mark, even a straight line. My blade looks like a quarter inch on a nine inch band saw.

clean dust off the wheels, center the blade get it tracking and tension it so it has a medium high to (wide blade) high pitch (narrow blade) twang like a guitar sting when plucked with the saw turned off

The blade bends inward as soon as it touches a workpiece, cutting unevenly.the blade guides top and bottom are adjusted properly

The tension on the blade is too low. There is a knob up on top that when tightened will raise the upper wheel, tightening the blade. With the saw turned off, open the cover and turn the knob, you will be able to see the wheel being raised and the blade straightening out.

Not cutting straight

All band saws do this to some extent, but here are some things to consider
1. The tension may be too low, so that it deflects excessively when you put a little pressure on it.
2. You may be using a blade with too fine teeth for the thickness of material you are cutting. The more teeth that are cutting at the same time, the harder you have to push to get them to cut.
3. You may have a dull or poor quality blade.

Check and see if one of the guides is out of alignment or if the blade is worn. Either one can cause the problem since you already checked the tension and guides. If the guides are worn they won't hold the blade true.

Hi,
It sounds as though you may be cutting too quickly. Try decreasing the pressure you are applying to the wood.
You could also try tightening the blade more, until it PINGS when you flick it with your finger.(When it's stationary of course)
I'm assuming your guides are adjusted correctly.

Cutting straight

The tension on the blade. the position of the guide rollers, and the condition of the blade are all important to get a straight cut. You might want to try lowering the guide rollers down close to the wood being cut. good luck.
