Question about Dell Latitude C500/C510/C610/C800 Laptop
This computer is really old and given to me by my mother's boyfriend. service tag FRBGR01 i think its really faded and hard to see.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

download a program called ophcrack from http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/download.php and it will retrieve the password for you. if its a bios password you will need to open up the back of hte case i think its underneath where the ram is and you will see a battery . if its not there its underneath the keyboard just take apart the screws in the back you will be safe just write down where they go. then you will find a battery that looks like a big watch batter (cmos) take it out. leave it out for a minute MAKE SURE COMP IS UNPLUGGED AND NO BATTERY and try turning it (shouldnt turn on just doing that to drain any capacitor battery.) on then you can put it all back to gether othwerise you will have to contact dell as they will have the backdoor password for it.
this is your solution i promise you that i worked on these dells like crazy.

SOURCE: Hi, I have a Dell
This problem is common in all laptops that have a pointing stick (eraser tip like) in the keyboard between G H and B buttons. It's a registry problem that cannot be fixed easily. The most economic and time effective way t solve it is to format your hard disk and reinstall your operating system.
Make sure to update your operating system before downloading any other programs or application and even before uploading your backed up files.
If this does not work for you, the problem will definitaly be a hardware issue caused by the pointing stick. Then the keyboard or the motherboard of your laptop should be replaced (I hpe your laptop is still on waranty....)
