Most likely it has some bad capacitors in the power supply. Flat--panel sets are VERY hard on capacitors, due to the fact that the "rising heat' from the set "cooks" the caps and they fail VERY early.

The clicking noise is coming from the power supply relay. Is makes this sound when the TV is usually turned on or off but has become faulty. It will only get worse over time usually until the TV will no longer turn on anymore. You need to replace the power supply in order to fix the TV.

The tv power supply board it is the 90-95% the problems and the causes. That the board where the tv power a/c cord plug into it.Those capacitors components parts the tvs corporation put on tvs are under voltages for low heat resistance most of the times and dies very quickly, to dies as times used a lot of tv on like 3 or 4 hours a day within a year or litte bit more.U have all the tools and understanding basic electronic also can do basic soldering work too?Yes?Take the the tv aparts and check the tv power supply board carefully for dying and leakages capacitors components parts. These dying and leaking capacitors parts are alway bulges up or puffing up on to it tops. All these dying and leaking capacitors parts that are bulges up or puffing up on to it tops. All these dying and leakages capacitors components parts must have be replaced like the same Micro Fared and those voltages on the new capacitor parts u are replacing should be in higher voltgaes like 5 or 10 voltages higher than those old capacitors parts u are replacing.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish tv power supply board for the replacement.
