Question about Philips DVD580MT DVD Player
7 years ago I bought a Philips 580MT and used the hack code to make it region free. Worked fine for 7 years until last night I got an error message and I could hear the sound from region 2 disk but got a scrolling picture in Black White. Any help and or advice? Regular DVDs or NTSC work perfectly. I've tested it out on two different monitors using RGB and Yellow video cable. Same scrolling problem with region 2 but not NTSC
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You can try out by connecting the CVBS (Yello) out from player to TV and connect HDMI out from Player to TV. Goto CVBS input on Sony TV. Select set up and you should get the HDMI Video options availble. Try to change the resulution and check for Video on HDMI source.
Which disc you were playing PAL or NTSC? PAL should work for Europe.

Above is a link that explains it all, from what it appears you cannot change the codes, and as of now, i haven't been able to find any hacks either.
