SOURCE: Problem with Olympus Stylus 710 Digital Camera

This could be a bad connection in the camera. Inside your camera you have these little connectors that basically have a lever that applies pressure to the flat ribbon cables in side the camera. If your camera is still under warranty, send it back. If not, then you have nothing to lose by getting yourself a PT.0 Philips screw driver and open the camera and check all the connections. As I mentioned before. Be carefull of the capacitor (it looks like a batter), for it stores a great deal of energy for a very long time. Good luck. P.S. Most cameras will not be able to read pictures put on a card by a computer because of the different operating system....in fact, some cameras may even become corrupted by trying such a process. Are you sure you want to take the chance?

It could be circuit, capacitor or the flash tube itself? Digital cameras are so cheap now that buy a new one is a good choice.

Blank display for olympus stylus fe-5030

Sound like a malfunctioning CCD-image sensor. Rare, but possible problem with your LCD screen viewer... in both cases (LCD or CCD) this isn't a job that you could solve yourself; this wrong include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.

I suggest check THIS LINK for additional details in this previous solutions for an Defective CCD (Charge Coupled Device) and next contact your Olympus service.
I strongly suggest (taking into consideration the age of your camera) to evaluate the cost of repair versus the cost of a new camera with similar features, before making a final desicion.

Hope this helps

Olympus Stylus 7030 Digital Camera: we rotated some pics on the sd card, on a pc, then replaced the sd card in the caemra. Now the camera will not display them. We also rotated the photos back and tried...

Afraid not. Many cameras will not display edited images, and rotating counts as an edit. If you still have the original picture (before the first rotation) then you can copy that to the card. Otherwise you'll only be able to view the picture on a computer (or other output device, like a picture frame) and/or print it.

Software U-7030

You can download Olympus software from
http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_support_downloads.asp?id=1486

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
