LG Venus technical problems

I've recently been having problems with my LG Venus, for no apparent reason. I've only had the phone since August 2008, never been dropped, or gotten wet, so there should be no problems.

Basically what's been happening recently (past few days) is randomly, when pressing a button on the touch screen. The phone will automatically dial the number "8250" or something like that and proceed to call it. Without me typing anything.

Also, when trying to text, sometimes the phone will freak out and 1) not recognize some of my button presses, 2) type random letters 3) type long random strings from a single button press.

As a result of this problem, tonight I thought if I turned the phone off and then on again, it would fix the problem. This worked 1 time, but the same problem occurred again with the texting.

So I proceeded to turn the phone off, but this time it will not tun back on. I receive a screen that simply stays "Downloading" and then after a while the screen blacks out, and the phone wont turn back on.
-- Sometimes the "Downloading" screen will shutter uncontrollably and not stop.

- I have tried taking the battery out and putting it back in; I've also tried plugging the charger in; nothing will fix the problem.

Please help, I really need use of my cellphone as I'm away from home and no way of getting to a Verizon store.

SOURCE: The phone blinks off in the middle of writing a text

I have the same phone... I LOVE THIS THING!
the only time mine will cut off is when the battery is dead. it gives no warning what so ever when I am talking on it. so I would wonder in your case that maybe you have a battery connection problem. see if the baterry is tight when you snap it in. clean the contacts also. hope this is a simple fix for you.

First diagnose the problem using the reset button or change to other profile. Is voice coming through Music player??? If its not coming then there is problem in internal stereo speaker. Just repair to service center.

I have the same exact problem with my daughters LG Venus.


Loose connection innside. Get it fixed from a proper repairer.

Reset lg venus


usually when you reset phones you have to go into settings then into phone settings and its in the security section the password is the last 4 digits of you cell phone number unless you changed it and there is an option that says restore phone and go to that then press ok and it will set everything back to factory default

Lg venus wont charge


Mine has the same problem!! it's definitly the phone I've tried 300 different chargers

mine has gotten so bad I have to hold it in place the whole time that it is charging

recently I made a contraption out of duct tape and a vice grip to hold the cord in the right place that it would keep charging

that worked for a while but now even that is unreliable

it sucks

I will never buy an LG Venus again

My solution : Get a new (completely different) phone

The Venus, as with just about all phones using the standard 12-button dial pad, use the # button, which is the bottom right button, as the default space button.

I'm going to guess that you're asking this because when you're texting and you try to use that button to insert a space the phone freezes, locks up or crashes completely. If that's the case, then you'll want to bring your phone into your local Verizon Wireless store to get the software updated. I believe it's software version v03 (might be v04....) that fixes that particular problem. You can check your software version by going into Setting & Tools > Phone Info > SW/HW Version.
