The correction tape wont stay

First make sure it is installed correctly as well as the ribbon. If they are not in their guides correctly, then this is common. Also, make sure you have a non-tacky correction tape or nearly non-tacky correction tape. Sure hope this helps.

How do I install a new correction ribbon?

the spool with the new tape goes on the left side of the carrier, with the teeth pointed in. then the tape goes in the guides in the back of the black ribbon plate, and behind the two metal fingers that stick up in front of the card holder. there is a flat spot on the far right and left of the ribbon plate, that the tape fits in., then just put the other spool (take up spool) on the post on the right side of the carrier. put the ribbon back on

I installed new correction tape, but there's too much play in it. It keeps unravelling. I have no idea how to tighten it up. When I turn the take-up spool, it just unravels it more without tightening...

Verify that you have installed the proper correction tape. The types of tape that can be used with this system are: Item 1030 - Correctable Film Ribbon, 1230 - Correctable Film Ribbon 2pack, 1031 - Multi Strike Ribbon, 1032 - Nylon Ribbon, 3010 - Lift-off correction tapes (to be used with 1030 and 1230 ribbons), 4010 Cover-up Correction tape (to be used with 1031 and 1032 ribbons).
Make sure that the correction tape is installed properly. Pass the tape through the left guide, behind the ribbon guide and out through the right guide. The rough side of the tape should face the platen. Attach the feeder spool to the pin on the left. Attach the take up spool to the pin on the right. Turn the take up spool counter clockwise until a small amount of tape has wound around it. Replace the cassette ribbon and close the case cover. Press [CODE] + [RESET] to move the carrier to the previous position.

I do not know how to load the correction tape...can you help me?

the easiest fix, is to take the machine to a repair shop that sells corr. tapes and ask them to install it. watch how it's done. look in the yellow pages. if you can't find a shop close, - - - first, take the ribbon off, then you put the supply side on the post on the left of the printhead. above the tape and right in front of the cardholder there is a guide for the tape that is black and has 2 fingers pointing to the left. turn the tape so that the part that is facing down as it comes off the spool is facing to the left, put he tape in the guide, between the two metal fingers and the card holder, then into the black guide on the right side and then put the take up spool on the post and turn to take up the slack. put the ribbon back on

PUT THE CORRECTION TAPE ON CORRECTLY

First, remove the ribbon. Now look at the left side of the printhead. (thats the unit that moves back and forth) You will notice that, above the spindel that you put the correction tape on, and towards the platen, on the black plastic, there is a recessed flat place about the width of the correction tape with slight serrations in it. This is the guide for the corr. tape. There is one like this on the right side also.
Put the corr. tape on the spindle, keeping slight tension on the tape, give it a 1/2 turn so the underside (dull) side is facing to the left, and put it in the guide. Then you put the tape behind the two metal "fingers" that are sticking up in front of the printwheel, and then into the guide on the right side. Then put the other corr. tape spool on the post on the right side, and turn it until the red "leader" on the tape is past the middle of the printwheel. The dull side of the corr. tape is the side that does the corrections, so make sure that side is facing towards the platen. Make sure the ribbon goes behind the metal fingers also. The tape and the ribbon should both be between the fingers and the metal cardholder.
