Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: My pantech matrix cell phone says insert sim card

This problem arises sometimes because the mobile is unable to read the SIM. May be you should fold a small piece of paper in the same size of the SIM and keep it on top of the SIM and then insert the Battery. I think this will solve your problem.

No because the SIM Card has to be registered with that particular phone using its unique IMEI number. If you try to put an other SM in it, Straight Talk will SIM Lock the phone so you can't use it. They discount the price of the phone and get their money back on call service.

How do I transfer my phone number to new phone. Old phone got soaked, doesn't work.

You will want to remove the SIM card located next to the battery in the back (I think). That card can then be inserted into a new phone and will use your old number. Furthermore, if you're lucky your contacts will also be stored on the SIM card and may be recovered.
