Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
Has three springs attached to the basket all are good ,spring on the back frame is good It has a brown plastic piece over each leg -gliders maybe- they are all intact and look good then it has 3 white plastic pieces under the basket all those are good. Hadnt been moved just started shaking bad like there is a weight out of place but isnt any weights on it. Checked the back self leveling legs they are free and move up and down. Possible something In the Transmission?? Thought it either worked or it didnt? Need Help Please if anyone has any ideas
Possible that the bearings are tight, check for free movement, Check the leveling of the machine. Also try with lighter loads to confirm if the counter weights are acting properly.

these machines can have this problem when placed on a pedestal and/or the floor may be level but not solid. a "bouncy" floor will amplify any movements. remember, these machines are much heavier and spin much faster than top-loaders. just because it doesn't jiggle doesn't mean the floor is level. you may have to brace to floor or foundation somehow

If the inner basket has broken off on one of the three braces on the back side where it is welded to the main spindle shaft that goes through the outer shell and bearing, you will need to replace the spindle and probably the inner basket. Some come together, some can be bought seperately and bolted. Not sure which yours is. Most people go out and replace unit rather than attempt ths repair because of cost if done by a appliance business. It is a complete tear down, and part or parts are expensive.
If you grab the inner basket and try to move it side to side, it should be solid.. The whole tub assembly can move while your doing this, but the inner basket should be solid in the back bearing
Just one idea..

Testimonial: "The inner basket seems firm inside the outer drum. Can't figure out what caused the outer drum to have pieces break off. Thanks."
Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.
Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.
Replace/repair as necessary.
IF THIS IS A BRAND NEW INSTALLATION - be sure you hav removed the basket shipping pins (4) that secure the tub during shipping.
