Question about JVC GR-D73A Digital Camcorder (PAL System)
I bought a GR-D73AS camcorder in Japan during a business trip but the camcorder recently started giving me black or blank screens with stripes.Old recordings play perfectly. HELP PlEASE! Looking for a service dealer near or in Cape Town - SA
Your older recordings will only play on a pal monitor / tv ; if the camera video is ok now ? your tape heads may be dirty , wearing out - or both ; try a cleaning tape first but - do not rewind cleaning cassettes , or the old grime will be put back on the cleaned heads and guides ;

This is usually caused by a defective CCD image sensor and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.
My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.
