the lid switch can be changed without removing from closet for sure,you can remove the angular access panel between the2 units youll see 2 brass clips holding the cabinet to the top, slide the entire top toward you to remove. its located under there. there may be 2 screws across the rear of main top holding down as well but yea pulling out will get you kn more access to any component

what I have found is that the washer thinks it is not pumping out .. if your drain pump is clearly removing the all the water in a good time... then the problem is your pressure switch...it is telling the computer that it still has water in the machine...

replace the pressure switch and it will solve your f21 error.

It is a round unit on the right hand side on top...with a tube and wires going to it...let me know if it helps

Unplug the machine. Unscrew the 3 screws under the front edge of the washer. The service technician manual is attached to the panel that slides down and off. Find F21 code. See suggested procedures. Note: My drain pump filter had a baby wash cloth in it along with some change that was disrupting the flow. It is exceptionally easy to remove, clean, and reinstall. Just line up installation notches when reinstalling. Whirlpool should have mentioned this filter in the User & Care Guide, but I could not find it anywhere in there.

This is the electronic washer. Unplug for two minutes, plugin then open and close lid 7 times. This will reset motor. Also make sure belt is not broken.

Water continuously drains and fills, and never gets particularly high


You will need to check you washer drain hose and make sure it is only inserted into your house drain pipe in the wall no deeper than 4-6 inches, alternately your house drain needs to be as high as the top of the washer lid. Be sure to secure your drain line from the washer to one of the water shut off fittings with a zip tie. You are most likely experiencing a siphon action because the washer hose is inserted too deep in the house drain. Pleazer Appliance...

GE WCVH6800 front load washer fill valve doesn't stop filling. It fills it to the point that water is leaking out the front (1/2 of tub). I purchased it 2 years ago and no warranty. Is it the valve...


In order for the pressure switch to work it has to get pressure.
The switch is located near the top of the right side panel and can be seen by removing the top cover. There is a small pressure hose that leads to the switch and should be checked for crackes or chafing. There are three round sponges on this hose to keep it from rubbing on the moving parts. I had to replace mine after just over a year so I used a heaver hose with the same inner diameter. I used a 3/16 fuel line from Princess Auto and two new 3/8 stainless hose clamps.

the most common problem with a washing machine not filling is the pressure switch. if you have a multimeter use it to check for any electrical issues. if there is no reading you need to replace your pressure switch

FH error indicates that either you have no water coming into the washer, or very little water. Since you can see it filling, the error indicates low flow. A flow meter
in the unit detects if 10.5 gallons fills the tub within 8 minutes; yours must not be. This will turn off the inlet valves and the error code will be displayed. Check the following:

- Make sure you don't have a siphoning problem. This occurs when there is no air gap for the drain line at the standpipe. The standpipe is the drain pipe at the wall where the washer drain line is placed. With no air gap, a vacuum is created, and water will begin to drain from the wash tub prematurely. To prevent this from occurring, follow this advice:

•The standpipe should be 2 inches in diameter to allow a sufficient air gap between the top of the standpipe and the drain hose.
•The standpipe should be a minimum of 34" from the floor, and should not exceed 72 inches in height.
•DO NOT seal the top of the standpipe. Many consumers seal the standpipe in the belief that this will prevent overflows, or get rid of drain odors. This often creates more problems than solutions.
•DO NOT place the drain hose too far down into the pipe. Water stays in the drain trap area of the standpipe. If the end of the drain hose rests in this area, no air gap is created, and this can also cause siphoning. 4 to 6 inches is sufficient.
•The drain hose length must not exceed 10 feet in length. Excessive drain hose length can cause drain problems and back wash.
- Verify Drain Pump operation. Unplug the washer and take the lower panel under the door off by removing the three screws under the bottom edge. With the screws removed, the panel should drop down then come off. If it sticks, tap either side and it should come free. The pump is located directly under the wash tub in the front of the washer. Verify the electrical connections are good and that the pump is running. Open the pump access and remove, once you have all the water drained. Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris. My washer never starts agitating. It just fills and fills till i stop it manually.


check the drain hose to be sure it comes up higher than the drain at the wall before it goes down the drain and dont shove it too far down the drain, 8-10 inches is enough also be sure that the fill pressure line is connected at the rear of the outer tub, lift the top of the washer and inspect at the rear left to see this rubber tube connection if all of these are correct then you may have a bad water level switch.

My machine will not fill with water.


It sounds like the switch that controls the water level is stuck ,thereby telling the controller that it is already full of water, causing it to start agitating right away.
Give the top of the console panel a good tap, this may release the switch if it is stuck.
If this does not work, then possibly the pressure hose is blocked that controls the switch.
Plz rate my solution.
