It might be related to a problem several early Panasonic digital amp owners were having including me. It seems like the amp which everyone claimed didnt get hot because it was digital does get very hot. Theres only a small cheap fan in the back which often doesnt work and if you put it in a hot environment like an enclosed shelf, it can cause pops, cut outs and finally falure.

My unit worked for a few years and then failed. Luckily I only got it for 99 bucks at a local dept store clearance sale. Theres a post at his site from someone with a Panasonic who is trying to change some resistors in his power supply that seemed to have been damaged by overheating.

SOURCE: Panasonic SA-PM19 - insert CD

Hi me2you

Your machine is not reading the disc. This can be caused for several reasons. The cd players lens may have a film of dust preventing it from reading. Try a lens cleaner CD. This is about the only thing you can do without getting into the internals of the unit. If you are electronically savvy, I can talk you through some more diagnostics, but generally this will mean replacing parts to fix the unit. If the Lens cleaner does not fix the problem, you may need to take the unit to a Panasonic repair guy for a quote. .

I am more than happy to answer any other questions you may have about it, just give me a hoy :) If you are still unsure, or have problems, then before you give a rating for this advice, please get back to me and we can try some more things.

SOURCE: I have a panasonic stereo

Remove cover and make sure the fan is ok...not clogged. Also, you could have a bad audio output IC or cold solder joints on the output IC. Use a volt meter to see if voltage is present on the speaker lines. If it is then your output IC is bad.

SOURCE: Problem w/ Panasonic SA-HT700 speakers

Let me show how to resolve your problem since you are not very good at this system.
A/V troubleshooting 101:
Remember the 2 speakers that you mentioned before that it worked.First, locate the one speaker output that work for you before(ex. front left)you will use this speaker output to connect each one of the speaker and leave the system on either tuner(radio with a proper station=101.3) or a dvd with sound, this way,you are troubleshooting two things for sure A. be sure all your speakers do work and B. your source is working.
After you test all the speakers with the same speaker output which had confirmed the speakers are working, that particular speaker output is working and also your source is working, send me an email and i will show the next step.
However, for any reason,if one of those speaker got no sound from the same speaker output connection, please do not waste anymore time, should take it back to the place you bought it from and get our money back and try to buy the A/V system separately(A/V receiver with speakers in one package, separate dvd player, etc.)
Cheers,

SOURCE: My Panasonic SA pm08 DVD/CD

Try first unplugging unit from main, and holding the cancel button.

If that does not work try the following:
Hold at the same time the stop button on the main unit and key >10 on the remote control at the same time for about 5 seconds, until you get the word "initialised" on display. This will reset the unit to factory settings.

Hi, I'm about 40 miles NW of Chicago and reception here is not great. I like to listen to AM radio. I usually use my speakers just to listen to CD's, but I decided to try my Acoustic Research receivers...

First make certain the CD player isn't on when the radio is on. CD players cause inteferance with radio's. Apart from that you will need a good aerial. If that doesn't improve it then it could be down to local conditions -hills, power lines etc, blocking the signal. Also check there's nothing around the house that might cause interferance to the signal.

No darn pre-amp outputs on the XR25 model......arrrrg!

Different circuit boards are involved here, and what you propose would be cost-prohibitive in that you would have to come up with a 45 board, or rework the old board(very tedious!). Take the plunge and stay the course on factory built items in this case...accordianman
