Question about Sharp R-1405 / R-140 Microwave Oven
We purchased a replacement Sharp 1871 to replace the one the kids broke hanging on the door (another story). The unit was manuafactured in July 2008 and is completely installed, but will not power up at all. We've checked power to the plug, circuit protection but don't seem to find anything wrong. Any suggestions? I've seen refernces to a fuse behind the control panel, how difficult is that to remove?
We have the applicable

You will need the free Adobe Reader to view or print it.
At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
The best place to order parts for this brand is Encompass (formerly Tritronics). Or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.
The prime suspects would be the 20A ceramic fuse located between the door switches or the temperature fuse on the magnetron.
