To be precise, you should post your ML (material list) number from the date plate. That would allow techs to see exactly the build of your machine. It sounds like you have a momentary start button that would be Normally Open, and a Stop button that is momentary and Normally Closed. together, they would operate a control relay for an A200 or contactor for larger models.
try www.hobartservice.com and select smart parts,
or call you local Hobart office with the model, and ML number.

    Hi,
I had the same problem over a year ago.
like for like switch from hobart would cost you a fortune, they're not doing them anymore, you have to change the switch and the metal panel,to do that it would cost you over 100pound.
what I did,I went to maplin they do have a normal switch would fit right inside the inner circle.
here's a link for the same switch I have used,it is a square one,you will end up with a small gap on four corners, what i did I took paper tape rolled it enough for the switch to become a circle and big enough to fit nicely and tight.
it works perfect, everyone who sees it would think it's the original one,all that would cost you £2.39.http://www.maplin.co.uk/locking-push-swi...

Hobart A200 Stand Mixer
Beatriz, I looked through the entire manual, it shows no reverse option. Did you just get the mixer or did you have it repaired. It seams the mixer is either wired wrong or the gears that rotate the mixer were not assembled correctly.
Check the attached link, manual, instruction and guides, Good luck

Hobart mixer A200 Rotation

Assuming the unit is 120v, single phase, my money is on a bad electronic start switch (not to be confused with the on/off switch) It's not visible without some disassembly. Usually, it is located at the rear of the motor cavity. Take note of all the info on your model data plate then go here to obtain a parts breakdown on your particular mixer. http://www.hobartservice.com/Parts/

I'd suggest replacing the capacitor as well.

Hobart A200 Mixer not working

Sundance,
Please visit the corp website www.hobartcorp.com and click on the "Sign In" link in the upper right hand corner. You'll need to complete a brief registration form, but then you'll land in the Hobart Resource Center.

Hobart no longer manufactures the A200 mixer - but you can review and download a user manual and a parts catalog from the Resource Center on your mixer. That should help you understand the parts need.

We do sell replacement parts direct to end users, just visit our service website at www.hobartservice.com - and click on the "Locate on Office" link. You'll be able to contact your local Service branch to purchase a replacement part OR to have them take a look at the unit and provide a quote on fixing it.

If you have additional questions on Hobart products - please contact me at sherri.wilmoth@hobartcorp.com .

Thanks!
SHerri
