Even though i just installed realtek ac'97audio driver on my presario v2000..the driver won't start (code 10)..and i can't update it too..

Oh?

What Operating System are you using, and what is the file name of the driver?
Did you download it from HP Support?

For example:
This is the driver download page for Windows XP,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=1832423

In the Audio menu there are two files listed.

One is the Conexant High Definition Audio Driver

The other file is the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio.

This file must be downloaded first, (Save File), then Installed, and computer restart.
{Microsoft UAA}
Once Windows has loaded again go back to the website, and download, and install the Conexant driver. Then computer restart.

Driver for Windows 2000 is just the Microsoft UAA driver above.
Driver for Vista (32-bit) is just the Conexant driver.

Did you;
A) Save the file to your computer? (Save File)
B) Open the file, and install it?
C) Restart your computer?

Post back in a Comment. (Believe upper right of your page)

Gud day sir,i reformated my hp pavilion t2250 but no audio devices found.

Yes, this happens dani_cueva.

It's no big deal, just download, then install the appropriate audio driver from HP Support,

HP Support > Pavilion dv9000t Notebook PC > Software and Drivers Downloads, Vista operating system,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=2093&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3224058#N150

Left-click on the + sign next to - Driver - Audio

Left-click right on the blue file name - Conexant High-Definition Audio Driver

You'll be taken to another page. On this page go down to the heading - Details and specifications
To the right of - File name: click on the blue - sp35849.exe [1/1, 3.57M]

A small window will pop up, Opening sp35849.exe
Left-click on - Save File

Another small window will pop up.
Write down what is in the top header of this window. This is where the file will download to.

It may state Desktop, or My Documents, or Downloads in the wording.
{Desktop, or Documents, or Downloads, for Win Vista, and Win7}

Desktop: The file - sp35849.exe will be on your desktop screen. (With a yellow folder icon next to it)

My Documents: Left-click on Start, then on My Documents.
{Documents: Left-click on the Windows logo button, then on Documents, for Vista and Win7}

Downloads: Left-click on Start, then on My Documents. Double-Click on Downloads.

{Left-click on the Windows logo button, then on Documents. Double-Click on Downloads, for Vista and Win7}

When you see the file name Double-Click right on it.
Follow the easy instructions of the Installation Wizard.
(Or find the file with .exe behind it, and double-click on this file)

Restart your computer if not asked to do so.

For XP there are two driver files listed. If you have a Conexant audio device, you have to download, and install the second audio file first -
Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp32646)

Then download, and install the top driver file -
Conexant High Definition Audio Driver

[ A Driver is a small piece of software that allows the operating system (WinXP, Win Vista, Win7) to 'communicate' with a device.
With no driver Windows won't see the audio device installed ]

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

It must be Conexant Audio Driver. You can download the driver from here, open the link, scroll down and click the Conexant HD audio driver... to download. Please check the Operating System. You have to download the appropriate Operating system's driver.

No sound from my laptop

I couldn't download it either until i tried a different approach
Go to your hardware update wizard
Choose Don't search I will choose the driver to install
Scroll down and choose sound video and game controllers
Choose the manufacturer which should be Conexant Audio
and follow the steps to install that way.......

This was the only way it finally got installed and if it says it can't find the "camc6aud" sys file, under browse choose the directory where you downloaded the driver
Example: C:cabs/Conexant Audio/camc6aud

Good luck!!

Audio connexant driver installation

HA! Gateway is the WORST! They tell you to download the drivers for your notebook...they install and then code 10!!!!
I'll cut to the chase with the solution, but I could go on for HOURS about how bad they are! I wish we could all BILL them for our time and frustration! If this solution helps you, think about making a donation to our dog rescue (link below).
http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/midwestanimals.html
I took my n/b to the Geek Squad...after 3 hours they still did not have the sound fixed!!!

FOLLOW CLOSELY!
For people having the same audio problem (Conexant Ac-Link Audio Drivers, Realtek) here is the fix.
“1. Install Realtek Audio driver (WDM_A380 or WDM_A381, doesn’t matter).
2. Reboot
3. Download and try to install the Conexant AC 97 audio driver. You can get the one from Gateway (D00245-001-001 driver), or any other manufacturer that uses this chip in the notebook. Pay attention to where it stores the files. For instance the Gateway driver uncompresses to c:\cabs\directory name.
4. Go to device manager, find the Realtek AC 97 audio item under “Sound, video, and game controllers”. Right click on it and select UPDATE DRIVER
5. Select NO if it asks to connect to Windows Update, click NEXT
6. Select “Install from a list of specific location” and click NEXT
7. Select “Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install” and click NEXT
8. DE-select “Show compatible Hardware”. CONEXANT should show up under manufacturer since you tried to install the driver earlier.
9. Click on CONEXANT on the left, then select “Conexant AC-Link Audio” on the right and click NEXT
The driver will install. It may ask you for the location of some files, point it to the directory the Conexant driver uncompressed to in step 3.
Reboot, and you should have working audio!”
