Question about Samsung LN-S4051D 40 in. LCD Television
We have TV hooked up to cable box, which seems to be okay. I unhooked it and TV had the same symptom w/o cable box. I have tried various way of powering up. No difference. Also plugged directly into the wall skipping the power strip. No difference. We were shutting the power strip off to save power as the TV is only on a few hours in the evening. The television set goes on and off repeatedly and without any control.
1 Bad inverter circuit (used for back lighting the LCD panel)
2 Bad secondary power supply too the inverter circuits
Especially if its a switch mode power supply connected to twin phase inverters. This problem almost always happens under that particular engineering scheme. Switch mode power supply's are horrible at sustaining high voltage CCFL back lights.
