Question about Apple iPod Audio Players & Recorders

Ipod classic 160gb code 1439

I have an iPod Classic 160GB. A few months ago I deleted all my music because my iPod was slowing down and I wanted to reupload all my music back on my iPod. But ever since I deleted it all, it gives met the finger with code 1439. I have browsed the whole web but I can't find a solution that works. Whenever I plug my iPod in my laptop it finds it, I can format it, iTunes sees it, but I can't restore it. iTunes unpacks the software for my iPod, but when tries to restore it, it will give me code 1439 again and again and again.

When restoring an iPod you may encounter a 1439 error code. This code indicates that an unknown error has occurred. This error may occur for several different reasons including outdated USB drivers and a outdated version of iTunes. Download the latest version of iTuneshttp://www.itunes.com/ Click on the download link and follow the installation prompts. Disconnect the iPod from the computer and any additional peripheral devices connected into the USB ports, with the exception of the mouse and keyboard. Restart the computer. Reconnect the iPod to a USB port. If possible connect it to a different USB port than that which was used in the previous restore attempt. ITunes should recognize the device and display the iPod device icon the left pane.Make sure disk use is enabled in iTunes. Select the iPod device icon in the left pane. Select the "Summary" tab in the right pane and check "Enable disk use." Restore the iPod again. To restore, launch iTunes and select your iPod device in the left pane. Hit "Restore," and iTunes will restore the device. After restoration is complete, iTunes will ask you to name the device and select syncing preferences for the iPod.Update the USB driver software in Windows if the error still occurs. To update the driver, click on the "Start" button and enter "Device Manager" in the search field. Click on "Device Manager" and click on "Update Driver Software." Select "Search automatically for updated driver software." Windows will search and update the driver software. If it can't find it, hit the "Back" button and select "Browse my computer for driver software." Type "C:\Windows\INF" in the search for driver field and hit "Next." The system should update the driver now.

SOURCE: the itunes doesn't recognize my ipod classic

you restored your ipod correct? (just the music is erased) not format ? (ipod is zapped)....ok..lets play with the restore part...plug up ipod to pc....do not open itunes (close it, x it out) ...go to my computer you should see a new drive on it (ipod)....double click ipod and copy the software (from ipod) it should be 4 folders and hidden files too...paste it to a temp folder on the pc....now right click ipod drive and format it (yes this will erase everything on it)...once format is completed reinstall the software from the temp folder back to ipod......now this is finish....update itunes to the newest version (even if u have it already overwrite it)....you now have a brand new ipod...........

in the beginning i ask if you restored or formatted (if you had formatted, you would not find nor see any software)......you would be better off asking a friend/family if they have the same ipod can you copy just the software (you would copy their software to a temp file, then on to yours same as above) .........i hope this works out for u.....feel free to rate the help

Is there any way to fix the slowness of an iPod without removing all the music? I have an iPod classic 160Gb.

I am going to assume that it is your performance that is slowed down.
Unfortunately, there are not many ways to improve the performance, but there are plenty of ways to bog it down.
A way that I found (because I owned a 80 GB) was to NOT display the cover art/album art and disable the album art preview that appears on the right side of the screen when its at a menu.
For the iPod, loading a video will always be slow, but it holds steadily after. I heard it on my iPod a couple of times where the music will slow down (by only a few beats, but its noticeable), no idea why.
Do not load pictures on the iPod either, there really isn't a point.
Hope this helps.

My Ipod Classic 160GB has no radio

The iPod Classic OS is same as the Nano. However, it looks to be so close as to come with the same settings checks off. The code to run the FM tuner is on the Classic and should have been disabled but Apple must have forgotten to turn it off.

The volume control is locked

The ONLY way to resolve this issue is to restore using iTunes. iTunes will restore the iPod. It is recommended to only have one iPod connected to one computer at a time. Also shairring your library should not cause the iTunes to not restore your iPod. If you are not wanting to restore the iPod due to not wanting to loose music, you will have to choose between unlocking the volume limit and keeping music.
