Question about Encore ENHWI-2AN34D Wireless N300 3-in-1 Router & Repeater & Access

Open Question

Is the Encore N300 Extender compatible with a Linksys Router? We can't get the Extender to connect with our wireless network

We can set up the Encore device by using the wizard, but when we select the Wireless Extender mode and find our network, it will act as if it is connected, but it doesn't boost the signal at all

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: I have encore enhwi-n router;

You need to clone the MAC Address of the PC that can go online directly to the Smartbro connection. Make sure the connection is correct. Your PC should be connected to port 1 on the router and the ethernet from smartbro to WAN or Internet port.

SOURCE: how can i put a connection password on my Encore IEEE 802.11g ?

go to -
Start -> Run -> type CMD and press enter
when the box opens type
IPCONFIG/ALL and press enter
scroll down to the header Connection and look for Default Gateway
Copy this number down - make sure you write it down correctly
now type exit and press enter

open your web browser and type that number into the address bar and press enter
this will take you to your routers setup
enter your password if prompted. if you never set one the defsult Name=ADMIN and default password=ADMIN. if this doesn't work you may have to reset your router by holding in the reset button for thirty seconds and reconnecting to with the same i.p. address you used before.

go to Authentication Security
you can choose WEP or WPA i strongly urge you to use WPA. WEP is a very weak security type

SOURCE: Encore ENUWI-G2 802.11G won't connect after installing SP2

Well, i had this same problem (it's specific to SP2, does not happen with SP1) and this is is the way i fixed it (I don't like it very much, but at least it worked):

1) Unistall Realtek USB Wireles LAN utility
2) Go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware ->Device Manager->Universall serial Bus Controllers
then choose the one with the word "enhaced host controller" or similar (usually the last one), right clik->Disable
3) Install Realtek USB WLAN Utility and everything should work fine.

The problem (a quite annoying one) is that now your usb flash disks will work slower than it could. For small amount of data (<100M) it doesnt matter. When you have to work with huge data transfers to you USB you can enable the controller for the moment.

I know it's not the greatest solution ever but if it's your only way to get internet connection it worths a try.

Best Regards,

SOURCE: I have Wimax wireless internet and I connected a

You can the CD that came along with the Wimax, if there is. it will teach you how.

If not, you can look for the IP in the manual which you will encode in the address of your browser so you can enter the Wimax configuration.

There you will find options on how to have security on you router.

If there is a manual it will help you a lot on how to configure it.

Why doesn't my netgear extender ask for name and password when I try to use it to connect to internet. It tells me that there is an authentication problem

Hi there! smile.gif Please note that the Tenda 150mbps Wireless Range Extender A3 uses a default IP address of - you must set your IP address to the 192.168.0.* range (* = any number between 2 and 253) to login.

The default access username / password (if required) are admin and admin.

Once you've logged in, you can configure the access point to route through your existing wireless router as the default gateway (eg. if your wifi router is, then you would route through that, and set your Repeater (Extender) IP to so that you can connect to it and then "relay" your connection through the repeater. It doesn't mirror the connection details for the existing wifi router, it simply creates an "additional" access point to connect through to your existing wifi router - creating a bridge, essentially.

The extender can be linked to the existing wifi router via LAN cable or WDS. For WDS, you will need to set the IP's 1 digit apart in the last segment (see above IP difference), and switch them both in the Wireless menu to ""Wireless Networking Mode: Network Bridge (WDS), but the SSID must remain the same (eg. "Tenda1") for both of them (it doesn't cause a network loopback), and any wireless security authentication must be identical (password / pass phrase / key + encryption algorithm) on both devices. Again, as with the above point, remember to set the gateway of the extender / repeater to that of the primary WiFi router.

Do you have the range extender set up on the same live in the fuse box? If you have the one side on a breaker on the opposite side of the fuse box from the othrr side, it will not work well at all. That is why I encourage people not to waste their money on these things and get a decent wireless system so that you dont have problems.

Can I move my n300 range extender once I've completed the setup? I need to plug it into an outlet closer to my patio. How do I do that?

After it is configured you can move it to any outlet as long as it can still connect wireless to your router. It saves the configuration.

How to hookup N300 wireless extender

You should just have to plug the N300 into a wall outlet, and plug an ethernet cable into the ethernet/network port. Access the N300 by typing into your web browser's address bar to access the N300. It has been a while since I set one up, but if I recall correctly it should just ask you to choose the wireless network taht you want to repeat, select your home network and enter the password for it and save settings.
