SOURCE: Need a replacement thermocouple for my DynaGlo Pro

All thremocouples have a number on them which tells what 'millivolt' output it has. Try to match that up or call a HVAC company and ask them for one with that number.

SOURCE: Where is the model # located on my Comfort Glow propane heater?

Usually it is a metal plate stamped to the unit.
Most common places to find it is usually located where the gas
valve and burner is located, it could be hooked to a chain.

Sometimes it is located on the side.

If the thermocouple is bad, the pilot light will not stay lit. Sometimes the pilot will stay lit but when the unit turns on the gas for heat, things change a bit and the nearly bad thermocouple doesn't see the flame it should and causes the gas to shut off.
You can google the make / model of your unit with the word 'thermocouple' and see replacements for sale. Usually not much more than $25. Thermocouple Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

My all-pro propane heater will not stay lit for over thirty seconds after I release the red fuel start button, before the flame goes out it makes an air hissing noise right before it shuts off.Heater will...

This sounds like a problem with your thermocouple.

Just remove the end of the thermocouple from where is goes into the gas valve and leave the end that goes into the flame in place.

Clean the end of the thermocouple connect by scraping off just a little metal from the end just about there the nut tightens the thermocouple into the gas valve. After you have exposed some new metal do the same inside the valve where the thermocouple seats into the gas valve.
Use a small pic or similar item to scrape inside the gas valve to expose some new metal there also.

Now reassemble the thermocouple into the gas valve and see if the heater works.

Here is a link with some more instructions.

If this does not solve the problem you may need a new thermocouple and you can find that at

My name is Larry and I have an older model Vanguard natural gas wall heater. Igniter works and pilot lights, but pilot will not stay lit no matter how long I keep the control pushed down. As soon as I...

The part is ordered by Model number, a serial number is no help, and yes there is a part called the flame sensor that allows the gas to stay on, I am sure if you contact a local supplier they can provide a suitable substitute gas valve or sensor if it is a stand alone part, on most the sensor is part of the gas valve. I think you will end up having a local shop try and match up the valve.

I have a 40 galon GE Smart shield water heater, Model: SH40T12AVH00, Serial # GELN0805V13908. The pilot light is lit but the burner will not stay on for more than 2 secods and then shuts-off.

I believe this unit does not have a standing pilot light and lights each time? Have you reinstalled all doors back into the heater? It sounds like the main burner is blowing the pilot off the thermocouple. You might try replacing the thermocouple. You can download a manual here:

I need to find a thermocouple for a mr heater Model mh35fa propane. mr heater does not have them in stock

Why not take out your old thermocouple to a store that sells furnace parts for propane fired units?

The important thing is unit length and the right fastener and the rest should take care of itself right?

Good luck and be careful!
