Do a Google search for your cooker and find a parts dealer that can replace yours. Or go to Home Depot/Lowes and see if they have a generic one that will work. Take the lid with you.
Sounds like the lid shorts the power or shuts it off, see if you can spot any faulty wiring. If you can't, you might try getting it to an electrician who should be able to solve it - but for $40 you could just as well get a new one.
