Replacing the throttle boot, I think

There is a split in the rubber concertina sleeve that protects the base of the tiller and I think it needs to be replaced. I am in the UK

Thank you Tim, do you happen to know if they have a number in Britain? I've been looking for the company Web Page but cannot find it.

Steering column falls forward . how to prevent.

There is a pivot knuckle located inside rubber boot. This knuckle connects the upper tiller to the steering assembly of the front wheel. There will be a bolt that connects the knuckle. You will need to ensure that is tight along with checking any quick release buttons or levers that allows the tiller to move into different positions.

Conected to the rubber induction boot is the impulse hose, it is a short curled pipe, make sure this has not split and is conected to the two nipples on the carb flange.

Try to replace throttle grip cannot get the cable back on the right side slot on the grip no problem doing the left side help !

partway down the cable under a rubber sleeve there is an adjuster assembly. Try loosening this a little to gain some length on the cable, then re-tighten it when you have it connected. the left side also has one you can adjust you throttle response using these. Be sure you replace the rubber sleeves.

Boat motor while in water revs extremely high after about half throttle with no additional thrust

It sounds like the prop bushing is bad. There are 2 systems for preventing gear damage, shear pins and rubber prop bushings.

The rubber bushing can be molded to the prop or there is a type that has a sleeve the prop fits over. If the prop has no sleeve you need to take the prop off and have it relined. It will fail soon, its just a matter of time. If you have the removeable sleeve, you replace the sleeve and just slide the prop over it and you are done.

The diminished thrust is due to the rubber slipping from its bond and it will get looser and looser.

Grinding sensation when steering wheel is turned. Fluid levels are up

If you're talking turned full lock, sounds like your CV joints. I have had my 2001 in twice for this (damn it).
Have a look along the steering rack (near the axle) for your boot seals (probably a concertina style rubber cone about the size of your palm) for any signs of grease escaping through a split in the rubber. From underneath would be best, as the inner boots are a bit hard to see from above. I'm no pro, but this combined with the grinding is a dead giveaway in my experience. The joints have lost their grease and are now worn down. Look for new after market joints online then take them in and pay for the service. A full set plus service from a garage could set you back ~$800 otherwise.

I have an RSVP stainless steel knock box and need to replace the rubber sleeve and grommets on the bar. Where can I buy these. The shop where I purchased the box does not stock them. Thanks Al

Hi Al:

Ok, here's what the pros do.
Sleeve-- get a 1-2 foot length of reinforced rubber tubing/hose. Measure the diameter of the inner bar, get the right Inside Diameter on the tubing, cut the right length and slip over the bar-- if the fit is tight, you may need a drop of dish soap to slide it. Lasts for years, much better than the old sleeve.

Grommets. Look at an auto supply store for auto wiring grommets. is a good place to start. Buy a dozen of 'em, and replace them when they split :-)

Craftsman tiller 5 hp a few years old. can get it to start for a minute or so than it dies. changed plug and cleaned filter what else could it be?

If there are any rubber or vinyl fuel line components it may be time to replace them. I'm experiencing a similar problem with a small "mantis" type tiller and the primer bulb is split. Searching for replacement parts when I came across this post. Hope this helps.
